Actually in the case of Bama vs LSU, there really isn't much of a home field advantage since the record leans more towards the visiting team.

BS. Home field factors in the betting line, regardless of what has happened in the past.

I'd say they'd be just as good. Bama certainly isn't a one man team like AU was last year. Eddie Lacy and/or Jalston Fowler are both perfectly capable of carrying the load. Maybe not as good as Trent, but still very able backs. Plus, contrary to what many think, AJ McCarron can also pass the ball behind a pretty good O line.

Fair enough. I just think TR is in a different class with better experience. But I really don't see Bama doing as well without him. I hope we handle Richardson like we did Ingram last year. He's one of my concerns for this game (along with Upshaw).

Touche... actually, im hoping to continue that trend over this way!!! Many tiger fans are drooling at the prospect of such a large spread and are dropping thousands with the bookies!!!

Isn't home field advantage 3 points?

Of course it is. You are rational 316. 75 is not.

Bama has two huge individual talents on each side of the ball in Upshaw & Richardson, but LSU is faster & deeper on both sides of the ball along with being considerably better on special teams. LSU will beat Bama. It is what it is

Yet again, another post void actual facts. We have more than Richardson and Upshaw. On offense we have Richardson, Maze, Hanks, and Lacy. On D we have Upshaw, Hightower, Johnson, Mosely, Barron, and Lester. ALL playmakers.

And thats against Bama's starters right? LSU's starters are usually done by mid 4th quarter. Garbage time is at the end of the game, not the beggining.

but we are a lot more deadly in the redzone so tell your punter to get his head in the fricking game

Alabama does not have one single Receiver that could beat one of our DB's one on one.

Just a random question. I noticed the amount of passing yards mccarron has and you would think our leading receiver Maze would have more yards. I would guess we have been getting the ball to everyone?

Time for another pointless stat? CFBSTATS.COM!!!!! Can the website get a sticky post?

Yes, I realize 3 points is given for home field advantage in Vegas. I was simply pointing out the fact that home field advantage hasn't really been that big a factor in the Bama LSU series over the years. That's not being irrational there Kim, its being factual and realistic.

How many of them are ranked now?

REALLY?? Really? It's partly due to our beating them that their ranking has dropped. Good gosh - you're gonna' have a hard time understanding football.

I can run off a list of playmakers too. I said "huge", not only. But i'll concede that Hightower is a monster & the best LB Ive seen this year. LSU has 4 good RBs, 6 really good DBs, rotates 8 DL, the better TE in Peterson, 3 WRs that can score anytime they touch the ball. I'll also concede that Bama has a better group of LBs.

I stand by my statement that LSU is deeper.

Not that these stats mean anything, especially since I'm not comparing them to the opposing teams defense. Purely entertainment. Leading receiving by yards.

1) Rueben Randle 638 LSU
4) Marquis Maze 482 BAMA
10) Odell Beckham Jr. 334 LSU
22) Darius Hanks 230 BAMA
25) Trent Richardson 212 BAMA
31) Kenny Bell 167 BAMA
32) Brad Smelley 165 BAMA
35) Michael Williams 152 BAMA
39) Deangelo Peterson 137 LSU
45) DeAndrew White 130 BAMA
50) Russell Shepard 116 LSU

Being that we win the field position battle with our ST and DEF in such a dominant fashion, the only offensive stats I feel are really telling of our team is points per 100 yards (b/c really, what's the point of total yards if you can't score points... just ask WVU) and red zone effeciency.

We're averaging a little over 10.5 points per 100 yards of offense. Bama is averaging a little over 8.5.

In the red zone we've converted 38 of 39 (97.44%) with 31 of those scores being td's (79.49%). Bama has converted 35 of 41 (85.37%) while scoring 24 td's (58.54%)

LSU's special teams & defense give their offense short fields. WVU & OR outgained them too. I think someone earlier said stats dont really matter. Im talking about ability. Sheppard, Randle & Beckham can score from anywhere on the field. So???

Can't we just let this be decided on November 5th? Why not take comfort in the fact that LSU and Bama are two best football teams in the country and no matter the outcome, the winner will probably go on to destroy someone in NC.
