lol. We’re talking about a bottom of the order hitter here who Carolina basically processed
Because they couldnt get anything out of him offensively. Do you think he improved from sophomore to junior season, or not?
If we have a “bottom of the order” hitter who hits .311, we’ll be in omaha

Yeah that’s why all these dumb coaches continue to do it
You are missing the point, facing jones and walking jones are both negative ev situations for the opposition

. 2.5 per game is.. a lot.
Agree which is why it’s important to make sure he’s hitting and not walking a dozen times like he has so far
It’s fair to say the following:
1) we’ve played the worst arms we’ll face in any 3-weekend stretch this season. You would expect someone with Jones’ reputation to mash that level of pitching
2) he’s being pitched around in situations where LSU has scoring opportunities, which obviously neutralizes his value to the team in some key spots
Not difficult to see

Then why are you propping up Tenn offensive numbers? They’ve done the same
They’ve outpaced us in about every meaningful offensive category is why. And Vitello has proven his reputation for having elite hitting teams

We weren’t last year

Not if it equates to runs, which has been proven over time to work

Your missing my point that his abilities are significantly limited if you’re best HR hitter in the heart of your order turns into a lawn ornament on first base in high leverage spots and there’s nobody behind him that can consistently make opponents pay
Hopefully someone can. It’s just not proven to be the case yet and a huge question mark imo. I think Jake Brown and Danny both have a chance. But until we see it then it’s speculation

We’ll see soon against some real teams I guess

K State and Dallas Baptist are legit.

Hes had Dickinson behind him who is a star himself, and he doesn't even lead the team in walks, Curiel does.
Are you going to make the argument now teams are purposely walking our leadoff hitter? Because that would be funny.

Doesnt matter, he has done it against less than sec competition.
I know, tennessee hasnt seen much better competition either, and he gives them the benefit of the doubt, of course, bc tony, but not jay, who also is an elite hitting coach

The sooner everybody would realize to ignore him the better, but he makes it nearly impossible to ignore. As soon we lose and he really has something to complain about he will just start his own threads.

Exactly. Engaging with him only encourages his stupidity.

Curiel has walked because he has good plate discipline
Jones is getting pitched around
There’s a difference
