If O had a favorite he wouldn’t have gone after Burrow so hard. If Burrow doesn’t start it means someone else beat him out. We are now in a good situation with our QBs.

What are you talking about loyalty? If Orgeron has any loyalty it's to Burrow. This is the first QB that was 100% his choice to bring here. Even if they're all neck and neck at the end of the summer, he'll go with Burrow because he bent over backwards to get him here.

Additionally people are saying that Burrow could signify a change in the QB paradigm at LSU, and how much of an effect he'll have on recruiting? Well he can't do that on the bench. 100% chance he starts. There will be no true competition. He gets the job.

He actually offered Tua after getting the job here, to the dismay of Brennan and Narcisse, remember? I don't think he is particularly vested in either of them, but took them because he had to.

Idk who Burrows is, but I sure want to see Burrow start vs Miami

A) for the sake of the team, AND QBs on the team he's got to win the job.

B) If he wins it, the team will be behind them. They'll be behind whomever wins it (as long as it is not fudged). They are competitors, they want to win (MSST, Troy, and ND are not forgotten- there's some shame and embarrassment there); they will want the best to be starting.

C) QB has to be a leader. To be a leader you have to show your stuff.

D) He just might earn it before camp with "unofficial" workouts. So we won't necessarily see it- don't assume it was given to him necessarily.

E) If he shows evidence of being a playmaker, a little back yard football instincts, he'll be the starter. That alone would put him over the top. Gone are the days of "protect the ball... so we can go 3 and out and show our punting prowess". CSE wants to take risks, and reap the rewards. The philosophy is big leads in 2nd/3rd qtr so depth/youth is protected in the 4th AND we can pin ears back on D.

haven't thought about it that way. I sincerely hope that isn't a factor. It will be, to some degree, it's human nature. But I hope it's minor.

The downside of our QB competition is that no one is separating themselves. It's not a very competitive competition. Burrow just might "push" the others more than they've every been. I've suspected over the years the lack of competition (from our recruiting AND assumed starters) has been one of the sources of our poor development.

my post mentioned ONLY the team, the staff, and earning it. In fact, it pretty much dismissed the OP's post about starting a QB based on fans or optics completely. And that was my intent. A-E dealt with performance as it relates to the team.
