Musings from my 8 hour drive home…

First off, the Omar thing was lame. All that hype for a cameo in one corner of the end zone? I was in school when they moved away from bringing Mike in the stadium. Honestly, it didn’t make any difference to me. It was a cool tradition, but no reason to rattle the big guy. If you want to see the Tiger, go to his habitat. I don’t think parking outside the visitor tunnel caused too many Ws.

Next, Nuss just ain’t that good. I’m rooting for the kid, but his last 6 quarters of football have been arse. You literally see the panic. It’s Jarrett Lee 2.0, and I’m not talking about the 2011 version.

What happened to our talent? The effort sucked, but we don’t even look like a collection of individually talented guys. Durham has a nice ceiling. Lacy is good, but not WR1 good…not at LSU. I’m sick and tired of the hype around our future NFL Olinemen. If they were that badass, we could run more effectively.

I’m torn on the crowd leaving early. I stayed until the end. Last night was one of the worst efforts I’ve ever seen from an LSU football team. I hate seeing fans stream out early, as it makes the Tiger Stadium experience seem overhyped and our fans seem fair-weather. Postgame traffic is always going to be bad, so why bitch about it at this point? That said, I can’t blame anybody for bailing early. Bama fans commenting that they would NEVER do that at BDS is also chickenshit, as they haven’t been boatraced like that in TTown in decades…so frick em.

Lastly, we are obviously stuck with Kelly. None of the other possibilities in that hiring cycle are faring any better. I have faith in Baker. Sloan sucks, but could maybe grow into the role? On paper, this just sort of looks like a Cholly Mac stretch where the team can be good, win a big one here or there, but realistically won’t compete for a natty.
