Not even a question this is what lost the game.

You can blame defense all you want. They came out in the second half. They were playing lights out in the 3rd quarter. Even after that pin point pass over White, they held Georgia to 3, then the next defensive series was a 3 and out. LSU offense was on a roll.

Am I saying that the defense couldn't have played better, lolno.

Take that muffed punt out, LSU holds Georgia to 13 second half points. (what if what if what if yada yada yada.)

All of the defensive issues are coachable and fixable. Remember, Mett also got sacked 4 times.

You people are fricking crazy for the "bench Mills, Fire Chavis, we can't do this with Les, we don't have the Athletes"

Could only wonder if some of you could make it as a fan of let's say OSU or West Virginia or one of those lesser teams. The season isn't fricking over. Your lives aren't over. There's still 7 games to be played. Relax.

I agree for the most part. We finally get our 3 and out then have to go right back on D.

As evenly matched as the teams were, this was what broke the camel's back.

I will say that you have a true weapon on your team if you can send a kicker out there for a 55-60 yard field goal. I was shocked they were going to try a field goal of 55 yards. Then the guy nailed it with plenty to spare.

You have to give credit to that special teams capability. That is ridiculous when you already have a really good offense.

Anyone who is surprised at LSU's defense and expected them to not skip a beat had on the shades.

The defense will not play as badly as they did last Saturday every week. The defense is clearly going to get lit the frick up against great offenses, but I am confident they can get more stops against offenses on a lower notch like Alabama and Florida.

Just need the offense to prove it can move on anyone. If they can click against Florida, I really like their chances in every remaining game despite a down defense.

Yeah. I found it funny that Special teams pretty much lost us the game as opposed to having a huge advantage in it.

i agree that the muffed punt was devistating.

however, in a game like this, the last team to have posession usually wins. so, when there's 4 minutes remaining and they have the ball, you lock man on the corners and send the fricking house. if they go over the top and score, they leave you with 3:30 to come back and tie/win.

if you keep everything underneath, you kill the fricking clock and they will score.

The only thing about the muffed punt is that it is a completely unforced turnover. Turnovers happen but you hope it is the other team making a ridiculous play to force it.

Our defense is still really good so I still think we are still in it to get back to Atlanta. It sucks that we have a more difficult schedule than our competition for the the division, but when has that not been the case lately.

UGA's 55-yard field goal made the difference between a loss and OT. In the NCAA, a field goal of that length is very rare.

That's because they are to blame. Let's put it this way: LSU scored 41 points and still lost. The defense gave up 44 points and more than 500 yards of offense. We had a four point lead with four minutes remaining and all the defense had to do was prevent a TD. They couldn't. They didn't even come close. They didn't even force a third down on that drive, I believe. They didn't really even have a single positive defensive play on the defining drive. It was wide open pass after wide open pass.

I was in Athens. I could see the entire field. The level of defensive confusion and disorganization throughout the game is difficult to adequately convey.

The loss falls squarely on the defense.

:kige:

It changed the game. It doesn't matter how bad the defense played after that, you cant go on the road and give possessions away due to carelessness.

That was a big defensive stop and should have got us the ball back and the guy hits that field goal.

This was bound to happen at some point this year. Beckham has rocks for hands and poor concentration both on punts and as a receiver. He is incredibly fast and has good vision, so I hope he can address these issues so he might have a long productive career in either the NFL or CFL.

I always thought I was the only one that thought this.

Beckham is our YAC receiver, Landry is our Possession Receiver.

And Travin needs to be our Slot Receiver;)

This is the same drooling duncecap who posted that Hill is "overrated" in another thread. Ignore this buffoon.

Zctually, watching the replay.

Defense did not play bad at all in the second half aside from the Go ahead touchdown in the waning minutes, which we can all agree is more of a scheme issue.

For everyone to see (props D HART)

I don't care if they move Kwon the Cornerback. He needs to start. He has the best motor and is very aggressive.

You do know that happened in the third quarter, we scored 14 points after that play, and had the lead with two minutes to go in the game, right.

Big play yes---one of many in the game.

Play that loss the game---no.
