I heard that happen to me one time on Toledo Bend. The rod was shocking me. Maybe 30 seconds later, KABOOM!

frick naw. I love fishing but hate dodging thunderstorms in the summer and being exposed out on the water. Fall, winter, and spring fishing is great when you won't have a thunderstorm blow up on your arse every day.

That happened to a friend of mine while fishing Grand Isle area. The stainless steel steering wheel was shocking him just before a big bolt hit close by.
