Write this down on your LSU schedule now to save yourself the trouble later. 7-5 season the only 2 games we will win on the remaining schedule are Tulane and LA Tech (hopefully). This is not a good football team. They are undisciplined and poorly coached. Sure the talent is there but it is not being utilized. I am not throwing in the towel or half assing it, I am merely accepting reality.

It is simple mathematics;

LSU is 5-1 right now, they will win 2 of the last six games and lose 4 this equals 7-5.

Lose to Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
Watch other SEC teams besides LSU and you will see
what I see.

Oh, you have been to the future and have seen this happen.

Statement to qualify that you have been to the future.

I am merely accepting reality.

So your reality is based on your visit to the future.

It's completely mind boggling that some of you don't see that.

Look, it's not that you are the only one to see some red flags popping up, it's just that I am not going to turn my back on a coach winning 80% of his games and a team that is 5-1 and ranked in the top 10. I believe both are deserving of a little more loyalty from me than that, but I understand that others have the right to their opinion as well.

Did any of you negatigers ever get better at anything -- you learned, improved, became more comfortable with your work or your play and got better? Putting a team of 18 to 22 year old kids is a developmental program. We are 5-1 and have a shot at a much better season than former and present powerhouses OK, ND, MI, GA, TN, AU, the U, USC (will lose in Oregaon) and others. I think we win 4 or 5 of our next 6 games with a drfense that will become one of our best and an offense that develops some consistancy with a good field goal kicker. If we lose 4 of our next 6 as some of the coward throw in the towel squad is predicting, then I'll agree that the program is in trouble. However, I am now opitmistic for a real good year.

I don't have to travel to the future to know this team sucks arse. They have been overated all year.
Offensive scheme is predictable, defense line is mediocre offensive line is hapless. Is this not reality? Auburn,Ole Miss and Arkansas can run the ball better than Georgia, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. Alabama' performance speaks for itself. This is a reality. In the SEC if you cannot run the ball you lose. Conversely if you cannot stop the opponent from running the ball you lose. Call it a trip to the future or just a realistic look at our remaining schedule but the facts don't lie. Our offense is at the bottom of the rankings and our defense is only slightly higher. I hope I am wrong but sadly I am afraid I am not.

116 years of football - we have been 5-1 and ranked in the top ten 6 weeks into the season how many times?

nearly 100 times fewer times LSU has been worse off than this..

Has this program not underperformed terribly over the past 2 years? Just answer the question....yes or no.

Last year yes - the defense was a disappointment

This year no - they are about where I expected them to be. I blame the offensive difficulties last year and this year on RP. But it was best for the program that he go, so now we have to live with a 19 year old, inexperienced QB, in a conference that boasts many of the best defenses in the country. That's what happens when you lose the #1 recruit in the country. What happened to OU when Bomar left, or this year when Bradford was hurt?

Uh......................seriously.
We're 5-1 and you see a 7-5 season?

Wow, you sound like the guy who gets the once in a lifetime chance to date Halle Berry but kicks her to the curb because your "reality" tells you she's gonna get fat in the future.

At least a number of the other half-assed fans have been somewhat convincing and provided some substance to their Chicken Little mentality. This guy just "knows" that a 5-1 LSU that has had top recruiting classes for years is going to lose every remaining SEC game.

Ridiculous.

Do you really think this is a good football team?
Sure we have top talent but it is has yet to show me anything. If you think they are well coached and that the offensive scheme is outstanding then you are not being honest with yourself and if you are happy with their play to date then you are happy with mediocrity.

Therein is your problem -- you are trying to paint this football team and football in black and white.

My answers:

quote:

Do you really think this is a good football team?
Yes...just not playing up to their potential.

quote:

Sure we have top talent but it is has yet to show me anything.
Then you are only focusing on the mistakes and missing their "moments." Sure they need to have more good moments than bad....I am holding out for that rather than boldly predicting the season in either direction.

quote:

If you think they are well coached and that the offensive scheme is outstanding then you are not being honest with yourself and if you are happy with their play to date then you are happy with mediocrity.
bullshite...coaching problems? YES. Happy with their play? Some yes some no. Happy with mediocrity? NO. But how does that spiral downward into your puddle of misery and delusion that they WILL be 7-5 or whatever you are predicting? Because you focus on the negative then spend time envying what you see other teams doing on game day.

I have many areas of concern...I am not going to dive into your misery with you. Have fun. That's your party, not mine BUT I WILL CALL YOU OUT ON IT when I see bullshite.

Go read this and then maybe you'll see what some of the more legitimate concerns are about.

Read my posts, I'm not either. But you are taking it a tad too far already. Auburn and Ole Miss have both been exposed, so we definitely have a shot against them. And the Arky game is always close. But we definitely have work to do on offense.

I'll make sure & bump this thread in a year or two when this program is still underperforming and losing 4/5 games a year.

Feel free to do the same if Miles wins an SEC championship in the next 3 yrs.

Last year was not an anomaly & Miles looks more like a guy who won a contest to coach the team for the day than a top tier head coach.

More purple kool aid pls.
