Not this year. You don't listen to much sports radio or read many sports columns. I understand if you are too, busy, but stick to what you know, which apparetly is not where the SEC games are shown.

Can't be on ABC. Doyou really want to play Bama on national TV? I for one don't - there is a far greater chance that we get embarrased than we win or even keep it within 7.

it has the potential to be a great one

Must not be watching the games. Offense is dreadful, almost the worst in the entire country. Been that way since hte first game. Not going to change. Maybe our defense will score some TDs. Other than that, we can't keep up with AL, and will have a very difficult time keeping up with AU.

Not god, but when give 6 chances to improve and I haven't, then I am man enough to realize I deserve it.

Has this program not underperformed terribly over the past 2 years? Just answer the question....yes or no.

No... they have not underperformed TERRIBLY for the past two years. There have been problems, and at one time or another everything wasn't all at its best all at the same time, but that rarely happens for the best of teams and for most teams that NEVER happens. This is not Armageddon for LSU football. But if you feel smarter or more important for acting that way, then go for it..

No.

Have they not lived up to some of the insane expectations that some fans have? yes

How about some elaboration?

quote:

Pretty much sums up the narrow-minded, short-sighted kool aid drinkers. Most fans that are frustrated now would love to finish the season well. But we're looking at the big picture, the long haul. If you can honestly say that the direction of the program is positive, then congrats on fooling yourself. Since the second half of 2007 (yes, when we lost to 2 unranked teams and beat a far inferior tOSU team) this team has underperformed terribly. That is the direction of the program. One season or game can have postive results with luck and smoke & mirrors. But over the long haul, continuing to underperform will lead to losses. Just try to look at the big picture.

Glowing generalities, nothing specific, gloom and doom "direction", underperforming......Focused on negative generalities, failing to see ANYTHING positive.... I don't expect you to be able to see that you are wearing negative blinders while "looking at the big picture". But hey, I read your other thread. You obviously feel you are so much smarter by taking this approach. Knock yourself out. Have a blast.

Sweet!

It also occurs to me that you should listen to your own advice:

quote:

Okay, pork belly prices have been dropping all morning, which means that everybody is waiting for it to hit rock bottom, so they can buy low. Which means that the people who own the pork belly contracts are saying, "Hey, we're losing all our damn money, and Christmas is around the corner, and I ain't gonna have no money to buy my son the G.I. Joe with the kung-fu grip! And my wife ain't gonna f... my wife ain't gonna make love to me if I got no money!" So they're panicking right now, they're screaming "SELL! SELL!" to get out before the price keeps dropping. They're panicking out there right now, I can feel it.

Good post. For those of us that have enjoyed watching the Tigahs since the late 60s, we have the perspective of really appreciating this era after having seen too many lean years to count.

It's like arguing with Democrats. No matter how much logic you point out, it's spun with excuses and short-sighted, narrow-minded views.
The bottom line is that if this program continues to go in this direction, LSU will be South Carolina again in a couple years.

It's completely mind boggling that some of you don't see that.

amen, 7 Moves. sometimes i can't take this board. the sec rant is getting even worse because of the number of a-hole bama fans posting. hearing people that don't know what they're talking about gets old. they were silent or kissing coach miles arse after the uga game. i think its safe to say we have many fairweather fans. they complain and they complain loud. they certainly have a right to do that but i've about had it with this place.

Write this down on your LSU schedule now to save yourself the trouble later. 7-5 season the only 2 games we will win on the remaining schedule are Tulane and LA Tech (hopefully). This is not a good football team. They are undisciplined and poorly coached. Sure the talent is there but it is not being utilized. I am not throwing in the towel or half assing it, I am merely accepting reality.

The same can be said about Republicans if you're on the other side of the fence. Besides, don't pollute this board with political bullshite. There's a reason why Chicken has an entire board dedicated to that crap.

BTW, what direction is this program currently headed? I'm just curious as to how the frick you can predict the future??

How is projecting a 7-5 season when the team is currently 5-1 anywhere close to "reality?"

Now your true "colors" come out. Take the Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck approach: scream at the top of your lungs that "the way things are going we will be run by the Nazis by 2010" approach. Look for the "trend" as you see fit depending on the color of your blinders (in your case, track negatives, ignore positives, fit a line to the hypothesis PROVING you are correct), then bash anyone who "fails" to see it your way by associating them with another group you despise. Sorry buddy but your "big picture" is actually quite small and very limited.
