Like last season wasn't?
this is what I will never understand. Our ffense was the worst ever. And ppl want more of the same, never admitting to themselves that we will be in much worse shape having lost almost every one of our skill players.

Whoever wins the job needs to be given a chance by the advocates of the other. A little fanbase support would be nice for a change instead of factions.

This. I don't care if he rotates them, or uses three during a game if we win.

ha, Lee doing so bad in 08 was one of the reasons JJ did so bad last year.

Quote from the article where the writer is speaking like he is Gary Crowton -
We worked hard in the offseason to make sure JJ wouldn’t throw any interceptions that could be taken back for touchdowns. We used electro shock therapy in some practices. If JJ would throw to a receiver that was covered well, he would get shocked. If he actually threw a pick then he would be forced to watch our highlight reel of Jarrett Lee’s picks last year with myself (esteemed Quarterbacks Coach) and Lee there to recap why he shouldn’t have thrown that pass, and why he should have just taken the sack . We think we did a good job of instilling him with the mindset to never throw it if he is even 1% sure it might be intercepted.

But even the writer admitted JJs year was worse, when he fake quoted Crowton as saying

After last year, I knew it couldn’t get worse, so I wasn’t worried about this year.

We don't need a dominant QB, just a dominant defense.

Fail, he did no such thing. and JJ had a great year compared to J Lee. We all saw how JJ just protecting the ball and making a few plays worked out for us in 08 when he actually had a running game to go with it.
But we can speculate all we want and get nowhere. This year will be the year that matters.

For the 1st time in almost 10 years, I'm not very pumped up about the upcoming season. I'm dreading to see what the offense will look like. I lost alot of faith in Miles & Crowton last year. I'm afraid we're in for another 8-5 or 9-4 season. What a difference 3 years makes.

If this turns out to be true then GODDAMMIT!!! WE suck. No way we win with JLee at quarterback. I'm sorry. I don't want to see him on the field ever again. I know he's a kid, I know he's a tiger. I respect him as a man for hanging in there, but c'mon!! if it walks like a duck, smells like a duck, and quacks...... its an fing duck!

Lets face it, the last two years of QB have a lot to be desired. I really do not care who they choose at QB to start the year as long as we see MAJOR improvements in the play-calling.

The only thing tightening up will be LSU fans' sphincters if Jarrett Lee is named the starter. Man am I glad Les isn't the coach of my team!
And I think it's the dumbest post ever.
It's a shame when LSU so called supporters make statement like that about a young football player and their head football coach. These people and you don't derserve to be called LSU supporters. How about supporting your players and team.......................

Unless he has been possessed by the spirit of Joe Montana, Lee's biggest handicap will be between his ears
Best answer I can give....

With postings like this we know you are SORRY.
I'm not much of a JJ fan but damn I still think we can win. I just know it will be a lackluster offense. Where it will be frustrating to watch, low scoring gamewhere not many subs will get meaningful PT.
Also, if the offense doesn't change from last year we know that making a comeback in a game is almost non existant with the majority of short passes JJ throws.

QB is only one area of concern the way I see it. We all know LSU has alot of talented young players. Will these new skill guys on offense step up? Will these new DL step up replacing an underachieving group last year? The area where the team must show improvement is the OL. This is an absolute must. If they play shitty like last year, it won't matter who's in the backfield. I'm much more worried about the OL than I am the QB situation.
I haven't been this uneasy during the offseason in probably 10 years. The last 2 years have scarred my psyche.

Lee will be fine if he beats JJ. Confidence and a year or two to learn the plays, where to expect blitzes, where his secondary receivers will be...all plays to the more experienced kid. What I want to know is: What happened to Chris Garrett? Les said he'd compete for playing time in the off season. Now, he's not even IN the QB conversations.

this kinda gets me too, Im wondering whats going on...maybe Lee finally said f**k it, lets do it...
I dont know, but I can garundamntee JJ is making the same mistakes this spring as he did last year...= not good...

No one would be talking about Lee if Jeferson had shown noticable improvement over the season last year. The job was his. Fact is neither of those guys has given us any real reason to have any confidence in their ability to lead the team. I am afraid that the upcoming season will be another year of excuses instead of victories.

Lee will be fine if the offensive line gives him protection.
