Thank You! Everyone is pointing to Tenn… well, what did JH do? Tenn went 7-6 in his first year, worked on the culture while bringing in his guys recruiting/portal. 2nd year making huge steps in right direction.

Tennessee was developing their great starting QB last year and it is paying dividends this year. Kelly is not doing the same here. He has a rental QB basically while none of the long term AB prospects are getting experience.

They also beat some good teams last season.

It's really as simple as this...the guy has historic level of winning CFB games as a head coach

Its really not that simple... won a bunch of games playing a subpar schedule every year as an Independent. Never had to navigate through a season and play a conference title game. Had a few solid teams but never fielded any dominant teams. Often beat by double digits when he faced other Top 10 opponents.

All experience is not created equal though. Bad, traumatizing experience actually can do more harm than good.

Right here is a classic example of melt purely based on emotion and not on the facts. You have a right to your opinion but let's just call it what it is...an overreaction to a really bad game. It may not get any better than this for the rest of the year but let's not compare Kelly to the other two guys you mentioned.

I agree many are using emotion from this game but the criticism of JD at QB has been there all year. He literally has maybe 4-5 quarters of good QB play in the season and that includes games against Southern and New Mexico. What is the point of playing a QB that won’t be here next year despite his struggles and basically kicking Nuss out the door? I wouldn’t blame Nuss for leaving at this point. That leaves LSU in a bad situation next year from an experience standpoint. You likely have maybe 1-2 games at most of starting experience between the players If he comes back at this point. Are you going to bench Daniels next year if he stays? I doubt kid wants to sit the Bench as a super senior if he did. So, that is one thing that people are frustrated with.

I'm frustrated with it too. Look...truth be told, Nuss has not looked like the answer. What it comes down to is really, as has been pointed out several times, a contrast in styles ala Jefferson v. Lee. The runner v. the Gunslinger. I think they feel like the runner gives them the best chance to win right now. I'm not sure if they are wrong or right but Nuss hasn't shown me anything that makes me feel like he's a slam dunk. I said it during Auburn game and I believe it's what I would do...give Nuss a couple series' during the game is Daniels is lagging. If he sparks, then ride him. Heck, for this year, I don't even know the the final record would be any different with those two so if that's the argument then sure, throw Nuss out there.

I think it's also fair to say that Nuss is more likely to leave than Daniels. The coaches may have a strong opinion about that. I also think it's fair to Kelly to say you don't win over 300 CFB games and not have a handle on personnel matters. I think Howard will start next year if he is clearly better than Daniels. I think he is and I think he will be. This situation is a classic "portal giveth/taketh away) I would not be surprised is Howard is the only QB left in the room after spring ball and a transfer comes in to compete. I's the nature of CFB now.

If it’s so easy to win at ND, why did so many guys struggle to do it in the modern era?

Davie, Willingham, Weis, Freeman thus far. Lotta meh on that list for a place that is supposedly guaranteed 10 wins a year.

Notre Dame outside of the Kelly years haven’t been good since the Reagan Administration.

Having a great QB that's 24 years old definitely helps too.

He won't be around much longer

LSU has an awful record against Tennessee going back almost 100 years. The last time the record was truly respectable was in 1933 (the inaugural year of the SEC), when LSU defeated the Vols in Baton Rouge, 7-0 to make the series 1-1-1, with each team scoring 14 points across the 3 games.

After that win, LSU would only be able to muster up 4 wins over the next approximately 2 dozen games. The 5-game winning streak they just broke constitutes HALF of LSU's wins against the Vols in 34 tries. At one point, they went 17-2-2 against LSU from 1934 through 1993, inclusive.

We've looked bad against just about every team we've played. Now, I think there's been some improvement at times.

We constantly hear after every game how the staff must coach better, it just seems as his go-to phrase now. Stop chanting it AND DO IT!!!

I agree with the OP, we should at least look better than we do.

IMO a big part of our offensive issues begins and ends with JD. The kid has no idea what he's seeing and the game is too fast for him. It's bogging down the offense and its deflating the team as a whole. No defense is going to want to be expected to shut teams out for the 2nd half of every game. This team is not just young on offense but defense as well and that's too much pressure for a young defense.

LSU is 2-2 in legitimate games in 2022. At this point, a 3-3 split for the balance of the schedule is about the best one can hope for.

LSU should defeat UAB, but a game like that late is always a question mark (and let me stop you right there - against UAB and Troy, LSU is the greatest comeback in school history away from being a combined 2-3 against these teams).

LSU will likely lose to Bama and Ole Miss (homefield advantage means nothing against Bama and little against Ole Miss this year). Florida, Arky and aTm appear beatable, but all three of those games will be away. It will not be a shocking result for the team to collapse and lose 2 (or even 3) of those games, as well.

BEST case, IMHO is beat UAB and 2 of those 3 for a 7-5 record.

8-4 (or better ) would be a literal miracle at this point.

The first words out of his mouth in the post game interview was about Beche fumbling the opening kickoff. But he neglected to mention that he swapped then around as the kicker was kicking off.

I can live with the losses if they at least try to throw the ball deep.

I mean, just throw it up. 50/50 ball with a high percentage of pass interference.

It’s fricking Cam Cameron all over again. Throw it up!

That’s BS. LSU fans go insane at the thought of even having a 3 and out. You are giving them too much credit.

Tennessee was the better team, and things snowballed from the very first kick. If that game gets played 10 times, we might get blown out 1 other time. Things like this happen sometimes in the first year. I question some of the decisions made, but the next football game I coach will be my first.

This is a talented team

Come on, really?

The starting RB is a former walk on.

The OL is a patchwork of transfers along with the secondary.

The QB lacks the two most important traits at the QB position, accuracy and decision making.

Special teams are filled with scout team players.

One LB could not make Clemson’s second string and the rest besides Perkins and Baskerville are good guys and would make good players at SLU but not LSU.

This team is lacking in talent BIG TIME. You can thank CEO for that.
