The absolutely little league level fielding and their doesn’t seem to be any give a shite. Jay should drape a green tarp over the intimidator and strip down the locker room.

the plate discipline is as bad as I have ever seen.
Even one of our best hitters, Brown, strikes out on as many balls in the dirt as anyone on the team.
Yesterday, Simpson swings at two consecutive pitches clearly high and inside on 3-2 count. Two men were on base, nobody out. If he walks like any quasi disciplined hitter, LSU has the bases loaded, nobody out, and a glimmer of a comeback inning. Of course, he watches a 3rd strike go by on the next pitch following his fouled balls. I turned the game off when that happened. At this stage of the year and not be any better than that, is just pure awful hitting coaching. I want JJ to be our coach, but the rest of the coaches are worthless imo . Yeskie, if he truly was ever any good, has seen his best days. LSU needs new blood pitching and hitting, and obviously base running and fielding. Any other team performing like this would not even blink at replacing some of the coaching staff. It is LSU's turn.

Ah-you’re the got to have a NC every year guy .
The ideal season for the typical LSU fan (regardless of sport):
Win every game by shutout. By a margin of 20 or better.
Win national championship.
Fire coach at end of season.
Rinse. Repeat.

any coach is only as good as his players. It should be quite obvious to all by now, that JJ did not put together a talented roster, and he has made some dubious decisions mainly because the lack of talent on the field has forced him to do so. Coaching is mainly getting the best players to come to LSU and then coaching them in basic solid baseball techniques...hitting, base running, fielding etc. LSU has failed in every department.
Coaches get credit when the players perform, so why shouldn't the coaches get credit when the product on the field is abysmal? LSU needs new assistants that aren't resting on their past laurels. LSU needs new blood as much as we did when Smoke was fired. Don't forget, he was considered probably the most winning assistant coach ever. Things need changing sometimes. I have faith in JJ because I think he genuinely knows baseball and cares. I have no faith in our other coaches that they know anything.....doesn't our baserunning and pitching pretty much confirm that?

We are all guessing at what is wrong with this team. Instead of putting this much blame on assistant coaches, the answer could be your first sentence that states any coach is only as good as his players.
We heard Jay call out some hitters for not having professional at bats. Something about too many 3-hole hitters. Are the disappointments with base running and pitching a failure to follow teaching or a failure to execute?

Your pitchers flumoxed our batters yesterday. We hit 5 runs in early innings to appear undisciplined at the plate the remainder of the game.

Didn’t see skip having to retool full rosters every year in the NIL era either. Recruited kids who stayed in the program all 4 years with very little turnover.

Most disappointing aspect of this baseball team.
Improvement! Can anyone say who improved as the season went on? Inconsistency reigns supreme with this team. Whether pitching, hitting or fielding, just up and down, no one to depend on, game to game...
