It’s obvious he’s still learning the position. he looks like a deer in headlights on many routine fly balls. But he’s s got the skills, just needs the reps. That catch should do wonders for his confidence going forward.

He is learning the position. Because he busted his arse, was it a great catch? Did he get a good read on the ball or was playing in position to have an advantage? The ball stayed in the air long enough for a good outfielder to get there. Would the catch been that difficult for Kling, Pearson, Stevenson our Crews?
His strength is at first base. That’s why they substitute defensively and put him at first and move him out of left. He is an elite first baseman in an OK outfielder.
His arm isn’t a plus which is why you can’t stick him in right. He can’t read or cover the ground or have the arm as Crews. So Johnson is doing what’s best for rhe team by playing Jones at first and Morgan in left. If Jones wasn’t hitting like he is, I’m not sure you see the same line-up. Maybe Cade B would be at first but I’m not so sure.
The best play Morgan made last night is that bunt. That bunt is a GAME CHANGER for him and LSU moving forward.
