I'd rather be good than classy.

ETA:

Tulane didn't play our 4-7 Dinardo coached Tigers that year, so you really can't say that. I think we would have won.

That was probably the best 4-7 team in the history of college football. So I'd say they would have beaten Tulane that year.

I think you would have lost and Shaun King would have had a field day.

I do agree that LSU's record that year was misleading.

had we played Tulane in Sept or early Oct of 1998,I think LSU would have won. Had it been later, especially November I concede Tulane would have won by 10+,easily.

"Doctor", please perform surgery upon yourself, and make yourself disappear. If you are a doctor, I am a U.S. Congresswoman. You are a piece of dung, and should STILL go pound sand up your arse, after you get your fiongers out of it.

if you want to mock an in-state school's fan base you should go look at some of the gems on the tech message board. they think dooley will out-recruit miles, that miles is watching who dooley offers because dooley worked with saban and can evaluate talent better than miles, they think that they almost pulled lamin barrow and morris claiborne from lsu, and they also think that "it wasn't too long ago that we were considered on the same level as MIT and cal tech"

You're right. LA Tech is a lot closer to LSU than Tulane is. Albeit both are still light-years away. Tulane fans should worry about catching up to USL and LA Tech before they worry about LSU.

you might have a point about la tech, even though they've only had one good season, but including USL exposes your post as an obvious flame attempt. also, i don't see how you feel that is relevant to what i posted. after that response and your one on the MSB i'm starting to doubt your reading comprehension abilities

How would the truth indicate a flame attempt? Tulane and USL were just about at the same level this season, with USL even being a little ahead. Even if Conference USA is better than the Sun Belt, USL's 6-6 is still a whole lot better than Tulane's 2-10.

After saying you've been right with almost every pick, you reply to someone saying they missed every semifinalist by saying you missed all but one. You didn't say anything about streak for the cash picks until I already began making my post.

"....1998 Tulane Football: Best Louisiana team ever..."

Each to our own, but the "Best" teams in this state in their best years play in the Sugar Bowl and not the Liberty Bowl.

98 was a very good year for you...congrats.

98...was the buy a six pack of Coca Cola at Winn Dixie and get two Tulane tickets still in effect?

btw...73, Tulane went to the Liberty Bowl. LSU went to the Orange Bowl. Tulane beat us a week after undefeated LSU lost to undefeated Alabama. Tulane beat a listless and emotionally spent Tiger team. They were NOT better than LSU.

The only time Tulane has beaten an LSU team when it may have mattered to LSU was 82. However even in that game LSU was coming off of a monumental win over Florida State to clinch an Orange Bowl berth.

Be proud of your win over Fla. State under Wally English that you had to later forfeit, and your recent victory over Southern University. Oh, and go ahead and cling to that first half performance against LSU in 07 also; that should provide some comfort. Shoot, while we're at it, you have beaten LSU once in baseball when it mattered (01)...and why not throw in the NIT victory over LSU just before your basketball Death Penalty for point shaving? Yep, Willow Street has much to trumpet!!!

98 LSU 34- 98 TU 24...too much kevin Faulk and Herb Tyler, even in a down year

You can't disprove that.

Strength of schedule and Rich Rodriquez was mainly responsible for that. The ENTIRE schedule was comprised of "Sisters of the Poor" teams that resembled a Verge Ausberry constructed Out of Conference LSU schedule......

Damn, the 1998 LSU team would have beaten the 1998 Tulane team. Tulane barely played D 1-A ball.

Obviously, they weren't the best Louisiana team ever, but...

That offense would have shredded Professor Tepper & company. It would have probably been something like TU 48 LSU 31.
