I know a few people in southerns band and yea they practice their arse off.. just as much as LSU does.. I would say both feel just as much pressure because both are considered the top of what they do. As far as playing wise there is a large difference and there is no denying that. Not trying to be mean or hurt any feelings but most of southerns members wouldnt make it to cut night at LSU

Shoot yourself if you actually believed what you just said.
Before 2006 the most southern as ever marched was 185 people max. Well over 250-300 try to make it each fall. Only 15-20 would make it depending on returning upper classmen. LSU has well over 300 members in their band ...you tell me which band you have the better odds of making it in?
I wish they would break up every individual section of each band line them up in front of each other, put any type of musical piece in front of them and see who are the better musicians.
Yes I know people in both bands and I know music and based on what I seen when I was in college I'll put my money on the Box!

we take 325 and had over 500 that showed up... we need a larger band for the 92500 that we play for... and im not saying that all of lsu's members are better there are some damn good players at southern but overall it is no contest

LSU has about 30,000 students.
SU has about 10,000 students.
You tell me, is it harder to be:
185 out of 10,000
or
300 out of 30,000
