O said it best when he made reference to the fact that the Ole Miss rivalry "is a rivalry game for them".
Same applies to Arkan's arse.
A&M's cockiness and general lack of character program-wide makes them more of a rival than either OM or Arky. If they want to be rivals, Aggie included, the vitriol needs to grow to the UF/Bama/AU level... at least that's how I see things.

I think most fans enjoy beating Ole Miss more than Arkansas, but the boot trophy is much more aesthetically pleasing than the magnolia. I'd display the boot in a corner somewhere, and the magnolia would go in a closet.

The only thing I can think of is that they wanted the college trophy to look like the NFL trophy. No one can say the new one looks better than the old one. the old one just looked special and that it was worth fighting for. The new one looks like a trophies I got for winning the SLYFA super bowl with the Walker Renegades in the 90's.

Actually they didn't. It's still awarded to the coaches poll winner. During the BCS era it was the most prestigious trophy as the winner of the BCSNCG contractually won the coaches trophy. Since 2014, the CFP trophy is generally recognized as the most prestigious as it's obviously awarded to the playoff winner. The coaches trophy will go to the same winner 99 times out of 100 but it's no longer obligated to.
