LSU has 3 NCs in football with 3 different HCs in the last 25 years and played for another.

LSU is the pinnacle of CFB. Everyone wants this job regardless of the outside noise.

People are underestimating how important this job is to coaches. LSU Football is life changing career.

Yes, but even Saban himself cited NIL, etc. when retiring. It's a different era now.

In addition, LSU now owes $54M to a single coach and is getting sued for trying to get out of paying that, and any coaching candidates would understandably be hesitant to believe that LSU can be taken at its word and would be able to redirect any remaining booster money to that new coach's salary and NIL instead.

This is absolute horse shite. If that were the case, we'd be beating people off with sticks when we are looking for a head coach. That has never been the case, and moving forward will not be the case. The best coach in our lifetime used LSU as a stepping stool to the NFL & Bama. Since then, we've hired Bums. Les Miles won a natty with Sabans players, Orgeron slipped and fell into a natty. LSU knew what they were getting with Ed O, yet they still hired the bum. Then they turn around and hire another Bum looking to accidentally slip into a natty then retire.

In the middle of all that, the LSU vacancy was used for other head coaches to get new contracts at their jobs at the time, hell it was even used to kick off a bidding wars that LSU would lose. If LSU is the "job that everyone wants" then none of that should happen.

LSU is a top 10 job, but it's not a top 5 job, and certainly not a job "Everyone wants". If that was the case Saban would have never left, even though he claims to regret leaving. Which I don't believe that for one second. I don't think he enjoyed being in Baton Rouge.

3 different HCs in 25 years.

18M/yr/ NIL - 30MM/yr in NIL offered now. 10/100MM, 53MM buyout for the shorty. Dude, LSU might look like shite due to BK, but it's real.

Hey Rog, you and I don't usually see eye to eye.

However, this is sort of a mess due to Landry, etc., but LSU is still a very attractive job. We're going to drop bags. And I know a lot of TD posters are complacent, but these dudes want to win championships.

Yep. The hire will validate the status of the job. I feel confident it will be in our favor.

I feel like we’re getting to a point where no known coach will want to come here without a BK contract.

They know they’ll be fired within 5 years.

Now they have to worry about whether we’ll pay their buyout, too.

You (nor I) have NO idea who’s wanting this job but I can guarantee there’s more wanting than not wanting
