Yep, won the long jump too with 22’5”. Kid is ridiculous
“Prior to Friday, he hadn't competed in the long jump since he placed second in Class 5A at the state meet. That happened on May 6, 2017. He hadn’t performed the event since, not even in practice.
And the 100-meter dash? Never done it, Duplantis said. He just wanted to try it for fun, and he had no idea what his time would be.”
“I just wanted to do something I always wanted to do,” Duplantis said prior to the race. “I just never felt like I was fast enough to really do it. I didn’t want to go and get smoked. So I was like, ‘Maybe my senior year I’ll be fast enough to run the 100 and be with them.' So I feel like I’m fast enough to hang with them, I guess. … I kind of wanted to do something I’m not going to be able to do after high school.”

Wow, can you imagine what he will do in future!
Also he could be a great candidate for decathlon.

This guy could dominate decathlon with some more strength work.

Yeah, that 100 meters would have been 3rd in 2016 decathlon Olympics......without training

He may not make it to LSU. He'll probably get a big endorsement offer after the Texas Relays.

I mean this guy just screams world class athlete.

Just like the guy on the right screams “one of the baddest men in the US military who could probably shoot you in the pupil 50 times in a row from 100 yards away”. Looks can be deceiving

So, Antoine is only the fourth best athlete in his own family???

That’s pretty fast. Not blazing fast for T&F sprinters. That’s nothing against Mondo, but just shows what kind of athlete his parents were especially his mom. Look at Antoine. Dude can fly. You do know he runs in practice and has a ton of sprint work for the jumps and pole vault.
If you go to the Texas Relays this year and watch Friday and Saturday, you’ll see some fast cats in High school.
In fact a few years back Bracy came and freaking laid it down beating some grown as men. That dude was a freak.

Just think he's only a senior in high school. I Rembrandt when a guy from Arizona (Brewer) broke the national high school pole vault record at 15' +.
You have go always back to check that - old-timer!

Texas high school 100m record is 10.13 way back in 1986. Derrick Florence went to Galveston Ball.

Top pole vaulters are known for being fast, it's a key ingredient for being good at PVing
Sergey Bubka, best vaulter in history, was reported to be around a 10.3 or 10.4" 100m sprinter and 26' long jumper before being a great PVer.
I heard, but never saw he was also pretty damn good as a 200m too.
Also, apparently based on his run up in the pole vault, he ran under 11.0" easily with pole in hands. per track and field news
