Les getting him to stay when Saban left was huge. And I have said earlier that keeping him this offseason was the biggest recruiting coup of all.
Moffitt is the root of our strength in the games ... and these new plyometrics that helped us hang with and devastate Oregon ... Guys like Brockers losing 15 lbs and gaining incredible strength and muscle mass IS PAYING OFF ... you can visibly see the difference ... This award only serves to prove that LSU is the premier College Football Program
I swear to God ... when they hoist that third crystal next January in the Dome ... YOU BETTER THANK MOFFITT ... TOP OF THE LIST

Which LSU player achieved the biggest physical transformation under Moffitt?

Great work once again Tommy!

TM7, aka Honey Badger. He was transformed from a 5-9", 170lb 3 star, INTO a 6'6", 300lb 4.4 terror, Heisman candidate.
Atta Boy Tommy!

easy to understand when your pro prospects have put up less than stellar numbers at the combine.
You realize the vast majority of players go out and work with private strength and conditioning coaches leading up to the draft?

he trains players for on field performance. Functional football strength. He is not paid to provide eye popping combine numbers.
people always say this, yet we continue to crank out early round picks with "less than stellar combines"... Why? Cause teams like what they see on the field.

easy to understand when your pro prospects have put up less than stellar numbers at the combine.
Are they individual cases or a common trend?
Besides, his job is to get the most out of his players. He doesn't have a whole lot of say in which players he gets. So, if the fastest player in the country went somewhere besides LSU, is Moffitt expected to coach up someone to surpass that guy... every year?
Plus, the combine focuses alot on strength, but not nearly as much on conditioning. This is largely due to the pro teams being able to enforce their own program and initial starting conditioning isn't really a problem. But what sets LSU and Moffitt apart from other college programs is the Louisiana conditioning program. The LSU guys are already pro ready. That doesn't mean alot to the pros, but it's deadly in college.

Anyone know how much these guys get paid?

Congratulations, Mr. Moffitt.
Guy has always had my respect. It appears his forward thinking contribution to the overall 2011 Tiger football team's success is, so far, less than fully appreciated.
Let me repost this thread from about a week ago on the Rant. Please read the WSJ article - good stuff re. Moffitt. LSU is so fortunate to have him (IMO).
Moffitt is better than advertised - Geaux LSU
I appreciate greatness.

Strength and conditioning may be the most under-appreciated aspect of on-field performance. It is certainly making a difference with LSU this year.
Absolutely agreed. Playing Oregon the first game of the season was possibly one of the smartest choices our football team could have made because we spent 8 months working overtime on conditioning and endurance and it has showed up BIG in the 4th qtr of our games. When the other team is sucking wind and making Nancy blocks, our guys are still driving through them and aren't even close to burnt out.
If I were Moffit and Miles, I would make what we did this year a permanent part of our Spring/Summer workouts because it has our players in peak condition at the start of the season........not midway thru like many other teams.
In fact, I attribute our 6-0 domination more than anything to fact that our Defense is better conditioned AND is able to react quicker to offensive formations and plays due to the fast tempo Oregon prep we did all offseason.
