Most of the people on the board seem to think Von Rosenberg is ours. I hope they're right, but anyone drafted in the first 10 rounds of the MLB draft is very likely to go pro. He was drafted in the 6th round.

Not so fast. There is a big drop off starting after about the 3rd round, not 10th....in fact, most signing bonuses starting as early as the 5th round round are under $200,000. Sure, there are exceptions, and those are the kids that had some leverage for whatever reason. But from what I've read, it would take a serious offer to get Von Rosenberg to sign, and that is much less likely with someone taken outside the top 2-3 rounds.

One thing to consider is the Pirates took a cheap first rounder, so they might have some money to go over slot for some of the high school arms they took in the following rounds.
