I feel like LSU never gets breaks (other than Bregman) with the draft.

i don't understand how people think any of our players were good enough to be drafted in any round worthy of leaving lsu....their is 1 kid on our team maybe two that are worthy and they are freshman not eligible(cabrera/hillaird)...lol....we have regular players that all return with exception of our sr players....

Watson's ceiling is definitely draftable in the top 5 rounds and saying otherwise is foolish.

He didn't have the best year and had some injuries, but I definitely thought he'd be off the board by now.

7th is over. slot value is under $180k now.

Of the top 22 prospects left, only 3 are in college, Watson and Hess are in that top 22.
I can't see why anyone, either on the team, or signed with the team, wouldn't be at LSU next year.

I doubt someone like Duplantis gives a shite if his bonus is $50k more this year than next, assuming he doens't do well next year. He can put his name atop the record books at LSU, and i think i'd rather that, than $50k, as well as a legit shot to be in Omaha next year.

i disagree and this year's draft proved that. they are starting 8th round and watson has nothing

his of play is the worst I've seen in 10 yrs at osu and he is too undisciplined at plate....that's why he won't even get top 10 rounds

Having Hess move back to closer would be so bonerific.

Kind of a double-edged sword. On the one hand it's great for the prospect of many players returning to LSU for next season. On the other, you could argue it means LSU just wasn't very talented this year.

He could've set a really high number knowing he'll still have leverage next year. We don't know exactly why he's still on the board.

I spoke to two St. Louis Cardinals scouts at Superior Grill in Hoover last year (2017) that would not stop talking about Watson. They were drooling over him at that time. Apparently something's changed with his signability or stock really went down with 2018 play.

Definitely. We would basically have 2 closers. Hess & Peterson.

Pitching certainly wasn't and Hess just isn't a starter. And the draft eligible guys weren't that talented outside of Dups and Watson really. I think we have some young talent that wasn't eligible as well.

Next year might be super fricking loaded.

I do not think his 2018 play helped; will he even start here next year if he comes back?

I heard we have some good outfielders coming in....but they have not been drafted either!!

know I'll get downvotes on this comment, but the draft goes to show, in my opinion, what kind of talent level CPM has recruited in recent years

i just compare him to past outfielders and look at their draft positions ...comparing hitting and defense and watson needs much improvement to even get sniffed top 15 rounds...too many other ofers who have done better in ncaa....

to do what he has done defensively this yr....they want ofers who can flat out hit....the want 400 average and 15 bombs.....not 297 and 5 or 6...his batting was a little better during the regional but last half of season was bad

Really starting to get excited about the pitching staff that is potentially coming in.
