STARKVILLE — LSU’s Brian Kelly has long admired Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach.

Their relationship stems from the late-1980s when Kelly was an assistant at Grand Valley State and Leach was working at Iowa Wesleyan.

“It has not exactly been a very restful week for us on the defensive staff,” Arnett said.

LSU defense vs. Mississippi State offense

quote:

Mississippi State has established the run early in games, so dropping eight defenders like LSU did last season may not play into Kelly’s favor. Strictly playing man-to-man against the Air Raid offense resulted in an SEC passing record for MSU the last time it went to Baton Rouge.

Score prediction

quote:

Mississippi State 24, LSU 20: I expect LSU to try countering MSU’s time of possession and play slow. This doesn’t play to Daniels’ strength, and I think it’ll help the Bulldogs build an early lead. LSU will return to up-tempo attacks and make it tight, but Mississippi State’s experience and understanding of its offense will give it the edge over the new-look Tigers.

Vegas has this game O/U 53.5 and State -2.5

Strictly from a gambling perspective, a 24-20 prediction with State on top makes little to no sense IMO. I could that score flipped if LSU was to win. If State was to pull it off, the over would hit and we would win by 10 points or so.

In the end, I think we either lose a tight one, or pull away late.

I don't see LSU losing this game being honest.

MSU is 9-0 when scoring 30 or more points under coach dip$hit. Keep MSU under 30 we win.

Where’s the part of the stat saying they’re winless when they score below 30? You’re making it seem like if they score 29, LSU is guaranteed to win LOL

I think the game could go either way (Vegas at -2.5 for either team is not real certain either), whatever the score is, but I think the O/U may be an indicator. Over is likely to favor State, under is likely to favor LSU. And like I said, I think it is marginal either way. But honestly, this game probably tells LSU a lot about itself.

Right, so to my point, it's highly unlikely the under hits by 9 points and State comes out with a win.

Yeah, I just posted a long winded agreement with what you said.

We may quickly get confirmation that the “talent” was vastly overrated and below average for the SEC.
