memorize these words.
The score board doesn't always reflect the play on the field.
We got our azz kicked on the field, even thou the score was close.
FACT.
Now continue your non-sense.

I have never heard of a 5 pt. loss being seen as a team getting blowout for the game.
yeah anyone that says a 5 point loss is a blowout is pretty dumb. but the score doesn't tell the whole story of the game obviously.
however, the game is 60 minutes. so not a blowout.

when MSU reserves almost gave us a chance to pull it out.
this has been the narrative, but it's just not true. they had plenty of starters still in the game.

So if Harris completes that last pass, does it mean that the win doesn't count?
exactly
a blowout cannot be separated by literally one complete or incomplete pass.

runningTiger, apparently you didn't watch the whole game. The score does not indicate what happened in the game. They backed off because they could've easily scored several more times. Had that pass landed in our hands and we won, while I would've been thrilled, I would've felt bad for a State. The better team won that game.
So many wasted posts in this thread. Op is talking about the continued theme that the game was a blowout. That's false, and zero arguments to the contrary have been made. A team can dominate the game and still not blow the other team out. So many people don't have the ability to grasp this concept.

A "blowout" to me is 20 points or more typically
Posted on 11/2/14 at 10:51 am to monsterballads
On the Rant today, I learned that a game that is not decided until the final play is a "blowout".
I'm not going to receive this kind of education anywhere else.

If we come down with that catch, are we discussing the first ever game where the winning team was blown out by the losing team?

Even if LSU had completed the Hail Mary and won, they would have been blown out to several people on the rant.

Sometimes I come to the rant and feel a little bit smarter afterwards. Usually I come to the rant and leave just a bit dumber. Today I'm confused.

I don't normally like making it personal, but you are misguided...screw it, you are an idiot.

i just assume you are a deceptatiger who cannot give credit where credit is due -- to the players and to Les and the staff
in 5 minutes, they put behind them all the momentum and points msu had racked up. THEY CAME OUT WITH HEART AND CHEST and were one completion away from pulling off one of the greatest comebacks in college football history. so few were watching that the last 5 minutes get lost, but there have been very few instances where a coach and his players have roared back like that, showing the true heart of a champion. EVER.
Those 5 minutes might be the most impressive thing I've ever seen from an LSU team EVER. and showed me that LSU will win several NCs in the coming year. What heart and never say die attitude! I get jazzed and humped thinkin about it!
GEAUX TIGERS!

Garbage points against backups is exactly that - garbage.

Against a team rushing three and playing prevent.....

did you even watch the game at the end? THEY WERENT BACK UPS! the msu center got benched, yes, but that was after 3 personal fouls called and not called. other than that, all MSU starters in during that time.
garbage points don't lead a team having a shot at a WIN on the last play of the game! THOSE WERE REAL GENUINE QUALITY POINTS. but you've shown your colors - you are a DECEPTATIGER who refuses to give any credit to Miles or to BRANDON HARRIS and THE TEAM! go tell Harris and the team that those were garbage points. Go tell that to the msu players. Or the MSU fans who stayed at the game until the final whistle. ANYTHING BUT GARBAGE POINTS

LSU Football is not a cult, my friend. Put down the kool-aid. It's okay to not think everything is perfect a the program. You come off a bit fanatical here, feverish even, with the incessant caps.

when everything you've said is wrong and i point out how it's wrong, just insult me. I see your modus illogicus ad hominus!
these the facts:
1. LSU was not blown out by msu
2. LSU was one completion away from one of the greatest comebacks in college football history
3. LSU got hot and ran off 3 straight TDs against msu's first team that got complacent
4. LSU scored Heart of a Champion points during that time, not garbage points, and showed us this was a team that will NOT go down quietly and will fight to the very last second.
5. I have never been prouder of an LSU team than I was at the end of the night, as they marched onward despite the lack of fans and support
6. Deceptatigers want that game to be remembered as a blow out because they know that no other coach in America save LES MILES could coach a team to fight back like that and never say die. The only thing Deceptatigers can do is point to the failures of Miles and try to ignore or rewrite history about ALL of his succcess, and I consider the last 5 minutes of this game as one of Miles' greatest coaching performances.
