Two weeks ago Danielson said on the Dan Patrick show that Les Miles is a coach he would love his son to play for.

Not me.
LSU is playing elite money for a HC and not getting elite results.

Recruiting is only nice if it produces results.

I said 8-4 or 9-3 but like others have stated its how you get there. We could end up 9-3 and be an ugly 9-3 and probably looking at a bowl game that we lose as well. I don't think this will make me or many others happy. We are moving in the wrong direction and the man in charge has to fix it or move on. Next year with the Ducks being our first game could be ugly and the train heading out of the station with our fan base on board from the get go. I will not accept going back to the middle of the pack. Miles needs to get his head out of his rear end and earn the 4.0 million. If not we need to make a change.

Less than an SEC West title should be considered a failure at LSU.

That's Bammer-like crazy talk.... it will NEVER happen that ANY team in the SECW is so dominant that they REALISTICALLY expect to win the West every year.

Given the level of competition in the SEC West, I'd say if we end up 9-3this year we generally lived up to expectations but didn't "outperform".... at 10-2 we probably capitalized on opportunities and made the best of it.... beyond that, if we end up 11-1 that would be pretty astounding in my opinion... yet at 8 games in... it's still realistically possible... far from a certainty, but within the range of possibilities.

I can see AU running the table... or perhaps losing to Bama. But I don't see them losing 2 games now.... so for this year, my expectation is that LSU will NOT be going to the SECCG... and that was my realistic expectation before the season... based on what Bama was predicted to do and my own anticaption of AU vastly improving... yet I did not expect the Cam Newton show.... nobody did.

So -- let's say... LSU beats Bama and wins out... 11-1.

AU loses only to Bama... 11-1

Bama therefore has 2 losses (I personally predict 3, USC, LSU and AU = but maybe that's wishful thinking, IDK).

In that scenario LSU is 11-1 and would be tied for the West Title but would not represent the SECW in the championship.... does that qualify for your "West Title"?

Win or Lose, his incompetence will continue. The fans are smart enough to differentiate between luck and good coaching.

We can easily got 10-2.
Not easily. That would require either beating Bama or Arky on the road. Neither of those two tasks would be easy by any stretch of the imagination for this team coached by this staff.

If Miles can manage the current situation and not let this team meltdown then I think he'll win back most of the fanbase. This involves beating Bama and the rest of the schedule. Anything short of this and the grumbling will continue into next year.

This is the perfect opportunity for Miles.

I think he can win most back by losing 1 of the remaining games. If he loses 2 of the 4 to put him at 3-5 down the stretch again, the fallout continues and possibly grows.

Yes. Not to sound Ole Miss-like, but losing the tiebreaker would qualify in my book. And, when I said that less than a West title is a failure, I didn't mean that it meant the coaching staff needed to be replaced. This should be the primary goal before every season. If you don't reach your goals, you fail. Simple as that. Obviously there are exceptions (plethora of injuries, players getting kicked off team, etc). I'm fairly certain that Miles would consider any season ending without an SECCG appearance a failure in his book. If not, then I don't want him as LSU's coach.

No way. Too many fans, myself included, have witnessed too much confusion and luck to ever believe that Les Miles is adding value to the program. At this stage, Les Miles is an albatross. If Bob Stoops and Les Miles had identical records, but only one could go to the 'ship, the media would pick Stoops or any other coach over Les (and Stoops has made plenty of stupid decisions in the last 3 years). Les Miles is a laughingstock and a national whipping boy for the college football sports media.

We could easily be 4-4. Last second wins over UNC and Tenn and a fake field goal to beat Florida. We will not be Bama or Ark. We have no offense!

he only has one chance and thats to put lee in and leave him in and let Rshep run the zone read. period..

I just thought it funny to think that one can speak as the voice of reason by saying that if a coach can go 11-1 - tied for the best record since 1958 - the coach could win back "most of the fanbase."

On a serious note, I do think that most people are not concerned only with wins and losses but also the belief that LSU is not getting anywhere near the maximum out of the players that we have.

So, to date, Nick Saban failed exactly as much as Les Miles.

Saban didn't have near the players when he took over the program as Miles did....Miles hasn't done squat for championships since 07 when he had all those Saban recruits.

We'll always have a good W-L record with Miles, but no championships. You may be cool with that, but most folks won't be.
