Basically saying we have to horse to win the race but our coaches keep them in the gate.

Recieving position is just loaded with incredible talent and athletes. I think that is where most of our frustration stems from.

We are just not going to have that kind of running game.

We're also not going to have the luxury of dropping Alabama and Florida from our schedule.

Not this year.

Not any year.

I'd settle for the #55 passing game

Or the #25th.

How does Coo-Coo think we're going to get to #15?

It's badly worded. No.15 is just referring to the current AP ranking. All he's saying is the passing game will emerge.

I'd settle for the #55 total offense this year

I'd have killed for it last year.

We don't need to practice the pass against the weak secondaries we have seen thus far.... Practice against them? Seriously? Listen to the words you use. Practice. Doesn't he practice 20 hrs a week vs arguably the best secondary in the country?

Our coaches aren't as stupid as you think.

Think bama woulda won vs Florida with 3 interceptions vs Florida?

Don't kid yourself. He would throw at least that many (JL)

People sure do have a short memory around here. When Miles (and Crowton) have had a capable QB they have thrown the ball all over the lot. Anyone remember 2006? Same HC there guys. He had a special QB and a bunch of NFL receivers and we were the most feared passing team in the league. A passing team that didn't win ANY kind of championship! With Matt Flynn, Crowton was more than willing to have a free wheeling offense. It's obvious, that in their professional coaching opinion, JJ does not possess the skill set they feel comfortable hanging their hat on. A coach can do a lot of things, but he can't shite a QB. If you ain't got a QB on the roster you run the ball and play defense. It's a strategy as old as the hills. Remember what Saban did in 2002 and 2004 when Marcus Randall was the QB or have you forgotten those years too? I HATE that we have to be so conservative on offense, but I also know we have coaches who have shown in the past that when the personnel warrants it, they are more than willing to open things up.

Most of the rant only remembers 2003 and the end of 2001 when talking about the Saban regime. 2002 and 2004 were because of Dinardo and Curly in their mind.

For anyone that didn't read the LINK, Miles didn't say we were gonna have the 15th best passing offense in America; he meant we'd have a passing offense that is indicative of the 15th ranked team in the country.

Well you can do that when they had one of the best Defense's ever in college football history and a great tailback. Jordan Jefferson couldn't hold Jay Barker's jock strap. I would take Jay Barker all day over what we got.

2006 Jimbo Fisher was the OC not Crowton. The most feared passing team in the league that did NOT throw the football near enough. You're damn right it was the same head coach back then. The same head coach that ran the ball up the middle into 8-9 man fronts the entire game against Auburn that caused us to lose the game. If Jimbo could have run that offense like he wanted too LSU would have been playing for the national title in 2006. Instead they didn't because of Miles and his stupid run we are going to be tougher than them Big 10 personality.

LSU was not a "passing team" in 2006. They threw the ball more than we do now but they were not a pass first football team, LSU never has been other than in probably 2001. It was LSU's lack of throwing the football that doomed that 2006 squad.

Again, Crowton's first year at LSU was 2007 NOT 2006. I cry when I think about what Crowton (without the interference of Les Miles) could have done with that 2006 squad on offense.

"I don't know what the deal is with what the offense is doing, but I know one thing: That we have tremendous athletes at the receiver spot,'' Peterson said. "Those guys can make plays at any given time of the football game. We know (offensive coordinator Gary) Crowton and coach Miles are going to get those guys eventually involved with the offense, but it takes time and I don't know how they're game-planning over there.''

Appears the defense is as mystified as we are.
