Here's all you have to say.
Let's compare, shall we?:

In Saban's last three years of '02,'03, and '04:
* He lost 9 games.
* He won 75% of his games in his last three years.....75%
* He went 1-2 in Bowl games
* He was routed four times and lost twice on the last play.
* In his 3rd year - HE LOST 5 GAMES.
* He won a National Title in his 4th year.

SOME of the players Saban recruited in his last three years have played for Les Miles in '05,'06, and '07.

And what has Miles done in '05,'06, and '07?: (compare with above)
* He lost 6 games (All close but one.)
* He won 85% of his games.......85%
* He went 3-0 in Bowl games (over powers Miami, ND, tOSU)
* He was routed once (SEECG) and lost 2 in OT (only home losses)
* In his 3rd year - HE WON THE NATIONAL TITLE.

MANY of the 63 Miles recruits from '05,'06, and '07 have played significant contributions.

Therefore, IN SUMMATION: it can be unequivocably said without any argument or dispute that:
Les Miles has won 85% of his games with SOME Saban recruits from '02,'03, and '04 and won 3 bowl games.
Saban only won 75% of his games with some of those same players, lost 9 games in '02,'03, and '04, and lost 2 bowl games.

Furthermore, many of the 63 Miles recruits in his first 3 years of '05,'06, and '07 have contributed significantly to winning 85% of their games and 3 bowl games.

This has been covered in 7,895,056,654 posts before yours, and of those, 7,895,056,653 were written better.

Tennessee loss in '05 was also in overtime.

That's 3 total in overtime, so half of his total losses were in OT.

Just sayin...

Who was Kyl Kipps and Muskingham Barnes? Would you trade Dorsey AND Jackson for those two. Kipps was an excellent Tight End that was moved to DE because we had no one better. Now he nor Barnes could crack out two deep on the DL.

Better yet pull out your 2001 tapes and watch the Tennessee game, mid season, then watch the Sugar Bowl game vs Illinois, then pull out any tape of the 2006 season and then decide which defensive players that you would choose.
IMO, if Rohan Davey had played on a team with the defensive talent that LSU has had in the last five years we would certainly have won a couple more SEC Championships and probably another MNC.

Didumbo did a decent job of recruiting but was a disaster as a coach so when Saban took over the cupboard was definitely not barren. However I would really enjoy the day when we will not have these Saban - Miles comparison threads. Football season can not get here soon enough!!!!

How well would have Miles competed with Shula's players? Huh? Bet nobody's thought about that...

Tressel, Meyer and Stoops each won their only BCS Championship within 2 years of taking over their program (with someone else's recruits). In other words, who cares?
