Jarret Lee does have just as good a shot as anyone. The kid has talent. Yes, he made lots of mistakes last year and, he may never play at LSU but, he has a good arm.

I agree. Lee is not near as bad as LSU fans think. The biggest problem with Lee was he was forced into a spot very quick and he was rattled. Not his fault. RP was the problem last year. Lee wasnt ready last year but had to play.
Its not his fault he was thrust into that situation. I doubt Jefferson would have done better if he would have played all year.

Not to mention, our D sucked arse last year.

Jarett Lee I thought just never led the team! During the Auburn game when Lee was on the sideline, he looked like a lost child in a zoo. Scared, Confused, and Not Sure What to do. And then his play and leadership showed this.

Jordan Jefferson on the other hand, looked confidenet and was laughing on the sidelines having fun. I mean he asked Miles if he could adress the team before the bowl game and said to them "Guys I know Im young, I know I'm new. I know this bowl game is an important game. I promise I will not let you down." If thats not leadership and didnt get some confidence in the team, idk what would.

sheps going to start at WR. been saying that since last year. start JJ and let shep be all over the place. but if you put him on the field as a full time OB next year miles is going to regret that asap

I sorta agree with this. I think he is very much able to play QB but idk that he will. I see him being a hybrid like player between Darren McFadden and Harvin. When hes at QB he'll be a McFadden like player, but when hes not at QB he'll be a Harvin like back/wideout.

Spicoli, let me ask you a few questions.

Do you think that Lee's confidence was greater at the beginning of the season or the end of the season?

Performance?

Do you think that Lee has a stronger arm than Jefferson, or better "throwing mechanics", or a "quicker release"?

Which QB would you consider to be more mobile with the ability to avoid sacks and/or gain rushing yards?

Why do you think Jefferson would not have done better?

Did you watch the Ole Miss, Arkansas and Georgia Tech games?

Which QB in your opinion has made more mistakes per game to hurt the team's chances of winning football games last season?

Finally, if everyone on this board would lay off Lee for a while, and you took a deep breath, based upon what we know after the bowl game, who would you like to be LSU's starter next year?

Our expert RANTards know how the QB competition will turn out. If you don't believe me, just ask them.

When I talk to professionals on a subject, they are usually the least confident about forcasting the future, but the amatures are always the most confident about their forecasts.

And immature college geeks are the most confident and authoratative forecasters of all--

Like I said, don't worry about Hotrod, he'll be back.

Anyone that doesn't concede that practices heretoforward will be important in our coaches assessing the situation on our starting QB, is someone I don't understand.

On the other hand, the coaches have to make decisions on who get the reps. at a position.

I agree with you that anyone who says, this player will be a starter... "book it", or Lee should transfer... is really just expressing an opinion, and an unfortunate one.

I've said many times, as you, Hotrod and others have pointed out... we need J. Lee to stick with it. You might think he should start or play more next year or what have you.

While I can understand the other side's frustration last year, I truly hope that J. Lee gets another chance for redemption.

king joey, how the hell can you say russel struggled in 04 when he came back and won games randall couldn't.
Did you see the Florida game that year? Or the Georgia game? Or the Auburn game? And he was splitting time with Marcus Randall, who was not having all that great a season. Sitting behind an average QB half the season qualifies as struggling in my opinion.

(that's for you King joey)
Is there a game going on right now that nobody told me about? A practice session? Workout? Anything?

No, of course not. TheDoc is just being his usual psychic self insisting that he has the ability to see the future and see across time and space and "know" things absolutely that will not happen for another 9 months.

Tell you what, Doc; since you have this absolute psychic knowlege, how about you give me 1000 to 1 odds on Lee starting over Jefferson. I'll bet $1 and you bet $1000. Since you "know" what will happen already, there is zero risk for you; it's a guaranteed free dollar, right?

I really hope you can read this again and see just how butt-stupid that statement is. If Jarrett Lee's performance at Auburn is what you consider "like a lost child in a zoo", then you need to head out to the zoo and start looking for future QBs.

Lee was a leader in that Auburn game, and brought us back when the pressure was on, on the road.

Absolutely true, and absolutely hilarious . . . except sometimes when it's absolutely pathetic.
