Mark Whipple from Tha U is a better candidate than most on your list.

quote:

4) Jeff Quinn OC at Cincinatti

Brian Kelly puppet

quote:

6) Tony Franklin OC at Middle Tenn State

While Tubbs bears a lot of responsibility for fricking with Tony's offense its too early to forget Auburn 08

quote:

8) Danny Langsdorf OC at Oregon State

Possibly a Riley puppet

quote:

9) David Shaw OC at Stanford

Possibly a Harbaugh puppet

quote:

10)Mark Helfrich OC at Oregon

Probably a Chip Kelly puppet

Also for everyone questioning Holgorsen.

I agree frick spreading the field in the SEC

to Dana Holgerson from Houston after the season is over. The guy coached QB's for 8 years at Texas Tech, was also Offensive Coord, and what he has done at Houston in just 2 years speaks for itself. If I'm a head coach looking for an innovative OC who can make sure the talent that I have is maximized then Dana Holgerson would by my hands down first choice.

even while defending crowton Ive been saying this same thing for a few weeks now. his history of taking any warm body at QB and putting them in the heisman race is amazing. and hes only 38.

dana at OC and a OL coach who has any idea wtf he's doing and LSU is right back in line for the NC next year.

and all the "who would coach under miles" figs can go frick yourselves. you said the same shite last year until we got the chief. your act is so tired at this point.

No its actually a legit question right now. Many fans see Les as a lame duck coach and going to a program where you are likely to only get one year before getting canned can set your career back dramatically.

I agree. Dana Holgerson is a very good choice. Also, another good choice would be Gus Malzahn from Auburn, but with this being his first year with Auburn, I doubt he's going anywhere. I've wanted Gary Crowton fired since the end of 2007. I just don't believe that Crowton is that good. Not to mention I HATE his style of offense.

Malzahn could very well be in line for a HC spot.

I don't want an OC just to promote a QB for the Heisman. I want one that can assess the talent we have and use it in such a way that keeps the opponent guessing. Crowton is sadly lacking in those qualities. Any future coach better have them.

luckily recruits and coaches don't think the same way "many" fans do. do you really think dana would chose to stay at houston when he could be calling plays for Jordan, Shep, Rueben, Tolliver, Ridley, and Murphy? and all that with the Chief and Ron Cooper, with Peterson and Jones on the other side of the ball.

It depends. If he actually thinks Les will be fired at the end of the year it could seriously frick his career. Additionally there's nothing wrong with staying the big fish in the small pond for another year. He's a young guy so this isn't a "Get a big time job or bust" situation yet.

i don't know who the offensive coordinator is for the Saints but that is who i would pick. I know Payton is the real brain behind the offense but i figure whoever the coordinator is must have picked up a few things. I love the way they give you the same formation or look for the first part of a play then have multiple different plays all from the same look. The exact opposite of what Crowton tries to do. Crowton gives you multiple formations and player packages then runs the same plays with them. You start with a basic offense then build off of that.

1) NFL =/= NCAA
2) Puppets don't always "pick a few things up." See various hoody disciples that are/were running around in the NFL

yea but we need someone who runs that kind of offense phylosophy. Overly complicated is not going to work here at LSU

not saying the saints offense isn't complicated but a lot of it is run off of basic packages and plays that spin off of each other.

hiring a new coordinator is not the entire answer every year! hiring a new head coach is now!! he can only hide for so long! this blunder was a disgrace!

See my point 1. NFL offenses are often more complex than NCAA offenses because players have all year to learn the playbook.

I honestly don't like the thought of having an OC who is going to have to reinvent his game to coach us. On the other side of the ball it works because most D's can be pared down easily for college ball, but offenses are a different matter.

i really do think that crowton has to go. For what ever reason he seems to be a bad fit with Miles and with LSU. I was defending him earlier but 100th whatever in offense is unexcusable at LSU. He may be a genius offensive guru but it's not working here. Last season i give him a pass with Lee at QB and all, but this season no excuses. They tried to hide Jefferson early in the season when they should have been letting him develop and they were in a lot of close games so that hurt the stats a lot but still shouldn't be #100th

Miles can survive IF he gets rid of Crowton. Poor play calling for two years now and good QBs getting poor coaching. JJ and JL both are good if they could get developed by a decent QB coach. Miles aint doing it, Crowton has failed miserably.
