SX4 is great gun but a recall is coming due to charging handle falling out. Factory is fixing under warranty but taking six weeks.
Great Class. Watched Ducre, will play under the radar for four years, start three. Watched Moreau several games, big, driven and has glue hands, a Jimmy Graham in the making!
Great blocker and catches anything in his direction. At 6.5 this is useful. Has several offers, but hope he picks Tigers. Need big guys upfront to pave the way for Fornette!
Anyone know what LEe is up to these days. Haven't seen much since Chargers cut him.

Line Backers

Just looked at the active roster. Seems we only have three linebackers that have ever seen the field. Shepherd and Baker with the only significant experience. Lots of redshirts and true freshman. Are we in trouble?????

re: LSU chose Miles...

I dont know why everyone thinks Saban is so great. He embarassed the SEC in the Sugar Bowl last year. And his last year at LSU was a flop. He won in 2003, but Miles has recuited better and has a better record.

Totally agree. felt sorry for the very talented players getting poor prep/game plans and then ambarassing coaching at game time.

I agree its not just JJ. The line was so so at best, but he had 3 and 4 seconds on several plays and holds the ball too long, and doesn't use the pocket (when there is one). He needs to adjust for the poor line performance. They blitzed constantly last Sat. especially in the 4th and we didn't adjust til the very end on the pass to Lafell. I blame Crowton much more than JJ.

re: Do we lose Chad Jones?

Nah, He and Peterson both got burned over and over again last Sat. Jones likes to freelance, but he was in the wrong position an awful lot against Ole Piss. I wouldn't want the pro scouts to see film of last Sat.

Miles can survive IF he gets rid of Crowton. Poor play calling for two years now and good QBs getting poor coaching. JJ and JL both are good if they could get developed by a decent QB coach. Miles aint doing it, Crowton has failed miserably.

Jeff. and Lee both have falts, but are good raw talent. Crowton doesn't know his arse from a whole in the ground. Neither kid is getting coached. Same mistakes now as September, sacks, poor receiver spotting, no pocket coolness. Obviously Crowton can't coach the QBs any better than he calls plays!!!

By the way, most Div. 1 QB run with heart, JJ just gets sacked and falls down alot when he does run. One reason why LSU has fallen off the elite radar.
We've got quarterback and coaching problems, not refs. LSU came into the game unprepared, were outcoached and outplayed the entire game. But it didn't get real embarassing until the forth quarter. Felt sorry for the players (many with huge talent) getting beat because of massive coaching errors.

Both of these guys are good. Simply no coaching. They make the same mistakes over and over again. But then look who the quaterbacks coach is. Crowtons gotta go!!!
Lee has alot more talent than anyone thinks. He jsut wasn't developed and coached last year. I'd take Lee or Jefferson any day over Snead. He was horable last night.
Its always good for Ole Miss to lose. They are in the west and compete directly with us for the SEC. On the other hand, they were way way overrated. 4th in the AP my arse. Just like Alabama (who we really outplayed last year) the Tigers will stomp them. I was embarassed for Snead, Ole Miss AND South Car. Both teams looked sloppy. Say what you want about the Tigers early struggles, the Rebels and Gamecocks are not on our level. Neither should be in the top 20. And I'll take JJ or JL any day over Snead.

re: Ace Foyil

He's healthy and running with the second squad. He's a senior and looks to be about 6 on the depth chart. Did well on special teams last year. A little like Ryan Baker, bigger, but a little slower, hits like a truck with no fear.
Watched him play often and had a chance to meet him while playing prep. He was definately the best all time DB at LSU or the SEC. I learned much more just watching him, than from any high school coach. He sure never got hit in the back because he didn't know where the ball was. It's a shame there is not more film that the younger players could learn from. Great person in real life too.
He was a walk on. He on schol. now. This will be his senior season. He'll probably play special teams again and some LB depending on injuries. He's 4/5 on the LB depth chart. I think he'll beat out Theriot and Clemons in the spring and Ryan Baker's still young. He can do the job if he stays healthy.
Riley def. needs to go to MLB. He is big, but a littel slower. He also seems to read the plays better. Sheppard is the most promising. I think Cutrera has matured, but will rotate some with Baker. Depending on injuries and the spring evaluation, look for Riley, Shep. and Curtera to start, with Baker, Theriot and Foyil competing for time.

I agree, we've got the talent, no coaching. Poor tech., motivation and effective play calling. The guys always seems confused about the play. I noticed at the Troy game, five or six coaches at a time making all kinds of signals seconds before the snap. Some players were looking at the sideline when the snap occured. Towards the end of the game, all the defensive players were ignoring them, usually with there backs to the sidelines. In the forth quarter they played better on thier own not listening to the idiots on the sidelines. Anybody else notice this?

Sheppard, Riley and Cutrera are all good, but need better coaching to guide their play reaction. They don't seem to read the plays well. I saw all of them make huge hits, but more often they were totally out of place for plays and thus missed tackles. Bear in mind our DCs were also the linebackers coach. Baker looks promising, but young. Foyil is outstanding, but fought an ankle injury early this year. I'd put him on the same level as Cutrera if he's given the chance. He made some great hits on special teams. We'll see come spring. Clemons, I dont know. With a decent DC and other coaching, these guys would be really good.
