My problem with Miles in the Bama game was that he chickened out with the ball and the opportunity to ice the game. Instead of going for the score he ran chickenshit plays and then attempted a field goal that wouldn't have won the game. It was almost but not quite as bad as him quitting in the 3rd quarter in January.
I really love how so many people say this AFTER THE F'ING FACT!!!
Sure is easy to coach from an armchair, especially after the fact. Miles played it exactly as most coaches would have played it. In fact, it was exactly how the mighty Saban played it in the SEC championship game. The difference was our defense didn't make a stop but Bama's did (or Bama got lucky that Richt didn't have the sense to stop the clock, depending on how you want to view it).
Let's ponder this, if given a choice PRIOR to the game as to who you would want on the field to win the game, either (1) the defense just needing to make a stop; or (2) the offense having to move the ball or score, how many here would chosen to put the game in anyone's hands but the defense? I know I would have said, kick the field goal and trust the mighty Chief!! In fact, if the offense had been more aggressive and turned the ball over, the same people crying Miles should have gone for the first down would the first ones saying, WTF, Miles should have trusted his defense!!

You are so correct. He could have never moved the pile like Ware did
How about this, keep your starting RB in who was having great success at that point and let him get the yard!!

You can disagree with the LSU actions in the last 2 mins of the game, but there is no "book on college football" that will tell you the staff made some kinda glaring error in game management.
They took a course of action to force Bama to use up their T/O by running the ball, attempting a F/G, and hopefully go up by 6 with 90 secs to go.
Bama would be out of T/O and have to go 70+ yds to score a T/D vs. a well rested D that hadn't given them anything the whole freaking 1/2 half.
It didn't work, but that doesn't mean it was some kinda terrible coaching blunder.
The LSU D which had played lights out for 29 mins, disappeared for whatever reason and Bama rolled down the field like LSU wasn't even out there.
If Bama had been running up and down the field on us in the 2nd half, then maybe you go all out for a TD and screw the F/G.
That wasn't the case, but after the fact coaching always has 20/20 hindsight vision.

No. It isn't all hindsight. I was right there in the stadium about five different times during the game, including the last offensive series and was like "WTF?". You look around and everyone else is like "WTF?". This isn't revisionist history made wight the benefit of hindsight. This is baffling. I've been watching football since SB3 and the best way to win a game is to get into the victory formation as the clock is winding down. Having also been at the Earthquake game in 1988, I know that 6 points with 90 seconds to play isn't enough to beat a team that hasn't scored all night.

The only thing truly "baffling" to me was watching the LSU D get rolled by an O it had controlled for 29 mins, but each to our own.

Nice to see Les still has a strong grasp for the obvious. He could be looking at 2 straight BCS titles if he does 2 very simple and obvious things that EVERYONE else would have done:
1. JL for JJ in BCS title game 2011
2. Pass the fricking football on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down in any of last 2 drives when approaching the red zone to win the fricking football game against Alabama.
This. That's what's frustrating is that the shortcoming of the great teams that we have appear self-inflicted. I'd love to see Miles come out in the National Championship game with the attitude and swagger of Belichick and toss the ball around and not play scared, or at the very least, do whatever it takes to win and change the gameplan after 2+ quarters of being totally ineffective.

Another frustrating Miles moment from this season, taking back to back timeouts before bringing in MaGee and running the jump pass in the Flodida game. Any element of surprise was long gone once the first timeout was used, the second timeout is concerning and likely representative of the sense of frustration of those that don't think Miles is the bees knees, and the kicker is of course when he actually puts MagGee in to run that play. Wtf was that?

I agree with what you're saying. I knew it at the time he called the timeout. I know Florida knew it.
That said, our offense was still trying to gel due to all the injuries, you can't fault the guy for trying a trick play.
The result of the play, while telegraphed it was, has no bearing (in the big picture of the game). We were struggling on offense, passing, dropped passes, no holes for our RBs..... he tried something that usually works. Unfortunately the timeout was called at a very inopportune time.
Can't blame him for trying that play.

Most successful piece of LSU football=defense=miles never involved
Most frustrating=offense=miles heavily involved
Thank God for Chavis.
Arkansas' loves for Houston Nutt being great=some of LSU dumbasses love Les Miles being great. Smh.

You mean the same team that was gifted last years national title, and needed others to lose in order to get back again this year? That same bama?
Naw dog, bama is pretty legit. I think we are more talented, and if anything what and what. Only difference....well that's obvious. But maybe your talking about your boy Les in 2007 with two losses. Two losses with that team...smh. If that don't sum it all up. And who needed losses from other teams? Yeah...we did. Dumbass

Who do you think hired Chavis? Alleva?
Who changed the same offense I just mentioned to one that took it to Alabama and beat them in every phase of the game? Dwell on the final score if you like, however that does bring up Chavis, does it not?
No one is perfect. If that was the case, Saban wouldn't have lost to Texas A&M.
Miles has the school record in wins in a season and then some. I'd say that makes him great.
He may have quirks or traits that irritate or annoy you, but what coach doesn't?

You just said it yourself. Do you think these players just say, "Well, I guess I have nowhere else to go, I'll go play for Miles."
And as far as this goes:

Show me one other team, besides Ohio State, that had 1 loss that could've gone to the BCSNG.

We didn't really get to see. Les' love affair with Jefferswag was in full force at that time.

I see all of the crybabies are out in full force. I am just guessing that none of you are males, because real men don't cry this much over things that happened months ago. Real men adapt, recover and get on with things. Real men handle disappointment and adversity.
