now seven/eight sec foes have to prepare for shepard to run and to catch. miles did not have to show shepard run again and again.
the sec foes have to prepare for shepard, ware, ford, hillard, odell, etc, etc, etc.
Teams don't do this. They look for formations, movement and down and distance waaay before they look for a certain player. The problem with Shepard in the backfield is, the defense almost certainly knows it will be a draw to him because that is what it is most of the time. A play action to him out of the shotgun would be a smarter play.

are you sure that miles is not game planning in favor of season planning?
Do I feel that we are saving plays or formations. No.

Miles clearly wanted to throw the ball Saturday night and clearly Mett and our O-line didn't do so hot. A couple of big plays against a bunch of players who will be teaching PE next fall made a poor performance salvageable.

please provide your links to prove you have been right to be negative for the last 7 years. you have been sooo negative on miles, lsu, and individual players, you must have proof.

please show your link to the 1/9 game where you forecast the loss.

you must have some reason to be as negative as you are about lsu and miles. please provide the proof or a LINK.

please provide a link to prove you knew every play of the last 7 years, including the fake f/g and maybe the end around.

you must have proof of your futuristic negativity and we would like to see it.

Here's a hint, Sparky. You ask questions that no one other than Miles can answer.
Asking why this or why that to a bunch of people that no deep insight into the inner workings of the LSU football program is just foolish.

There is a difference between intelligent discussion and inane speculation.

Since crowton is gone, LSU has gone back to the philosophy of: we will do a few things very well on offense and we will not beat ourselves

Miles is not a fancy guy, LSU is not a fancy team and fancy doesn't win consistently in the SEC

Keep in mind we play Alabama and Florida every year. Miles has to put together a team every year that can beat Alabama on the road and Florida at home or Alabama at home and Florida on the road. So if he is knowingly running a program that is not geared to beating Alabama and Florida every year he will be out of a job. Period.

Seems like he knows what he is doing to me

And lets not forget in 2003, sabans LSU team was the most penalized team in the sec.

Ill tell you why miles doesnt run shepard, cus hes not that fast and he gets raped by sec defenses. If we run that play, which we have before, the chances of him breaking 78 yds is very slim.

Supa, those numbers are false, include sacks and mett scrambles and weve called probably around 12-15 more pass plays than you are showing. We are calling throws way more than we have since 2008.

miles is doing the right thing. we are calling app. 25 pass plays a game. that is enough if we actually get off the pass and wr catch the ball. that part is not on miles. shep needs more touches but not against Towson. miles will NEVER open the playbook until he is convinced that mett is no jl. mett has contributed to the problem with so many turnovers.

miles is correctly playing the percentages that LSU can win with a strong defense AND NO TURNOVERS

why would miles show the foes any of his secret plays? i did not feel that lsu would lose when towson went up 9-7. why do yall want to show our secret plays? didn't mett throw up two 40+ td's when needed? did not the offense run for scores as if in a class?

LOL..."secret plays"...what are we in 5th grade? Geeze.

There are no "secret plays" people.

Shepard is indeed one of our fastest players. He is very elusive and has big play potential. I like giving him the ball out of the shotgun...It's probably the closes thing that we can do to simulating what he did in high school and it highlights his strengths.

You could've quoted this from his last presser to enforce your position.

I want to believe you are right and we did use a very vanilla offense.

I don't think a coach will do this on purpose though for one major reason. It makes your team look bad and gives opponents confidence. Florida is going to see the Auburn and Towson game and see a team that's vulnerable and they will play better because of it.

I'd much rather have a team that crushes everyone to bits and infects their future opponents with "fetal-position crying in the corner" fear
