And you can't run deep plays to Shepherd. He just does not catch the ball well enough to run that with him. He doesn't run very good routes and he drops a lot. He is a short pass receiving threat only.

It's not just the execution. Its the actual play calling itself. There is no reasoning behind the sequence of the play calling. Nothing sets up anything. It's just random play calling. And the vertical passing game will be covered as long as we don't run screens and short stuff and the run will have a tough time as long as the linebackers are sitting on the line of scrimmage without worry of passing routes behind them that are being completed.

THIS! Been saying they need to start using screens. They ran a screen to Hill against UF on 3rd and 18, he gets 20 yards. They ran a screen to Ware on the first drive against USCe and he rips a big game. That needs to be ran several times throughout the Bama game. Having those line backers thinking about the screen pass will open up some room between them and the safeties.

i believe miles on this. we must sling the ball. mett will likely be our qb next year, and there is only one way he's going to develop, and that's to sling it.

If he hopes to recruit any decent WR's and QB's he better start slingin it a little more...
