Either Miles and Zach Lee are tight and Zach has him convinced that he is a Tiger no matter what, or Miles does not understand that he needed to orchestrate an opportunity for Zach in the scrimmage. Or Lee is a goner and has told Miles as much, which flies totally in the face of all Zach has said.

So now Zach sees 1) he basically was not given any opportunity to show he was the man in the last scrimmage before his huge decision for him and LSU's future, and 2) will see millions, at least 2.5-3 M, flashed in front of him....both at the 11th hour prior to the 12/16 deadline decision.

Miles is once again either foolishly cavalier, knows Lee is a goner, is just not "with it", or will look like a smart gambler with pocket aces.

Or Zach Lee is gone and Miles did not want waste a scrimmage on him. Either he stays and he gets his share of QB time if deserving or he goes. Stop making up Miles hating shite.

Aparently pass plays were called for him, but he looked lost and never managed a throw. Wasn't there. Going off of scrimmage recap on first page.

Or it could be that Miles and ZL are both smart enough to realize that throwing anoother new QB into the fire would not be beneficial to eitehr ZL or the team. (Assuming that by the phrase "opportunity to show he was the man" you mean opportunity to win the starting spot).

If so, the Crowton should be fired right now. He has had three 4-star QB's come into the system and his system has confused all of them that badly?

Yes, Zach is just getting started, so give him some plays that are fairly easy - damn!

Did you see the scrimmage? Is it possible the defense (and not the "system") confused ZL? Also, is it possible easy pass plays were called, and he still couldn't manage to make the plays?

If ZL is staying, he's going to red shirt. With our QB situation, we have 2 QB's ahead of him that he won't pass by this year IMO. I bet he already knows he will take a RS unless major injuries happen. His decision about baseball will have zero to do with the scrimmage. It will have all to do with dollars over the college experience (football, baseball, girls, fun, education...in that order).

You appearantly have not read the paper this morning about what Miles said about Lee.
This a quote from the paper this morning:
LINK

quote:

The bright spot among the quarterbacks might’ve been freshman Zach Lee.

Miles said the 6-foot-4 freshman “got some snaps” and made a strong impression with a nice cut on an option run and 30-yard pass that should’ve been a touchdown.

“He really can throw it, he’s really bright and he’s got great moxie,” Miles said.

“He understands the position pretty well. He’d be a guy who will compete to play snaps this fall.”

The idea of redshirting the strong-armed Texan was also waved off by Miles. He said that was originally an option until Lee showed up and proved he was closer to ready than a typical freshman.

Lee’s status could change any time, of course, depending on what kind of financial offer the Los Angeles Dodgers make him in the next few days.

The Dodgers picked Lee with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft and have until 2 a.m. Tuesday to come to financial terms with him. Lee said last week he hadn’t heard from the Dodgers since draft day.

That will change soon. Steve Henson of Yahoo.com wrote Friday that Lee “is going to get a substantial offer before Monday’s signing deadline.”

Miles said he plans to visit with Lee soon about his looming decision.

“He’s going to have to put the priority on education and playing championship baseball and football and what he wants to do with his life,” Miles said.

Where did you get your info from? This I got off the website this morning.

But if Miles knows or knew ZL was a goner then he shouldn't have let Garret goner under any circumstances.

I was waiting until the first half of the NC game to let me know how the season would turn out -- because you'll know that quick whether this staff understands last year's travesty.

But if ZL signs with the Dodgers you may not have to wait that long.

If ZL sings with the Dodgers, it will be clear that the light bulb hasn't come on for Les.

True ZL really shouldn't be a factor this year. But when you have one QB who was sacked 37 times and another who DBs could use as a JUGGs to practice pick six returns, you're 3rd string guy is kind of important.

This goes for all posts on every board. No matter what the topic, the humidity, the chance of showers, the likelihood of a total ecplipse of the sun, or what Nick Saban had for breakfast, Miles is a jerk and needs to be fired.

I am a lukewarm supporter of Miles, but good God, he didn't invent original sin. It would be great to read a post that talks about a deficiency without getting insane about it. I read a post earlier about how Miles loves Lee so much that he lied about his effort. Then 180 degrees later, I find out that Miles is treating him like dirt so he is definitely going to the Dodgers. Wave $3 million in front of my face, and I too will have "an ethical dilemma." I think he stays. I want him to stay. I pray to God he stays, but if he goes, I doubt highly that Miles will have run him off.

From all indications, it looks like he looks at the kid as the future as do the rest of us.

According to the advocate you are just stupid.

Z. Lee played a big part in the scrimmage. Said he made several nice plays including a 30 yrd. pass. It gave 2 paragraphs to Miles praising Lee, saying he will probably not redshirt this year because he is far enough along to compete for playing time this fall.

What else could you want. At some point Miles has to prepare the team, which means getting our other 2 QB's ready.
