Miles has done wonderfully riding off the coat tails of Saban. I will give him that. He is one blessed coach.
Wow. You actually are one of those saban deserves all the credit for lsu's success a decade after he left?
I was pretty sure most of you were just trolling with that idiocy but if you really believe this, thanks for pointing out that you are not one to take serious.

Miles has had 3 years were he didn't win 10 games....
Just step back and think about what you just said.
Even as an analogy thats bad

Damn. People wanting to bet against lsu being successful.
What the frick is wrong with some of the lsu fanbase?
This confirms that there are some "fans" that want lsu to lose.

I have no reason to think LSU can win the sec between 2015-2017 as long as miles is Lsu's coach and saban is alabama's. It's science.

Absolutely not. We are an elite program and should compete for championships every few years. That is a reasonable expectation. Expectations should be high heading into next season, given what we should return. If Miles goes 8-4 both of the next 2 years.. then that is 3 straight years.. at that point, I would be concerned that he doesn't have it anymore and a change might be necessary.
You see, this is where it gets tricky. How do you fire a guy for going 8-4 or 9-3? With the body of work Miles has? Especially if those records and being in the SEC west keeps you in the top 25?
I think there is more of a chance that Les hovers around 8-4, 9-3 than there is of him winning another NC or going 6-6.
Many of the guys that are pretty vocal on here defending Les' winning pct and such all have said that going 4 or 5 years without winning the SEC or the west is where they draw the line.
There are always going to be idiots that want him fired every time he loses a game and guys that kiss his arse and make excuses when he shits the bed. It's the in between i'm interested in. Aside from from the past and his body of work what is really expected moving forward?
Those same arguments about career winning pct, winningest coach, runs a clean program, good family man, great recruiter, OOC record, can still apply and him continually be 8-4/9-3 range moving forward.

OP we don't need your crap analysis. Intelligent college football fans knew Miles wasn't going anywhere. If he loses 5 next year he is on the hot seat. If 2016 is bad we buy him out at 8 million.

TigerGman was preaching it few pages back!!! He's right we got molested in several games! LSU offense has been horse manure 6/7 seasons. So many fans keep talking about Miles winning percentage. Have you noticed his percentage is going down the past 3 years. We aren't the same team as in 05,06,07.

Ha, I have to laugh when I read these post. Boths sides (hate miles/love miles) fence typically don't know shite about their own coach.
Miles has recently... yes recently be saddled with the title of old school run at all cost coach that hates to throw the ball.
The truth is Miles is not constrained by his belief so much as he has been constained by subpar passing quarterbacks. Recently Mett is the only exception and guess what he threw for a lot of yards.
It is the talent that has made us a run first football team.
So for those of you that disagree I will point you at the caliber of quarterbacks LSU has been recruiting. Some were misses but that doesn't change the philosophy of why they were recruited. Some turned their backs on LSU at the last minute and went to baseball or to other teams. Doesn't change the fact that Miles was trying to bust out of the "we can't pass worth a shite" delima we have been in as of late.
Look at the last OC hire. Look at the WR and TE LSU has been targeting!
Miles may not... has not succeeded much lately with getting that great qb, but I am not arguing that he was successful. I am arguing that he "has a want" to pass the ball more.
I will be the first to admit that at one point this year I was watching LSU and getting pissed that we were not throwing the ball more. Then a few passes later I was like, "OH... stop throwing the damn ball."
I think that 2015 could come as a shock to some people. I think our young qb's are hindered mainly be time and not ability. It is entirely within the realm of possibility that the playbook sinks in for BH next year and we have a killer QB. If that is the case then book it we will be throwing the ball much more next season.
Doesn't mean we won't run because hell, we have one heck of a running attack.
I just believe this situation LSU has been in is more dictated by talent than by want/philosophy!
And for the ND game maybe we get a glimps of some improvement to expect from AJ next year. With all the extra time instead of just a week to prepare the coaches should have been able to really work on typical spring football type stuff with AJ. I think we will see SOME improvement from him against ND.
Geaux Tigers!

Miles is a good coach but with the new landscape of college football he needs to kick it up a few notches to match the new trend in college football and get the O more balanced with the run and pass. I for one was never on or off board with the Miles Hire . I will admit I like him at times and other times I would love to run him off. Keep him or fire him will be determined by Win and Lost total and where we finish in the SEC. He will not be here much longer with 8-4 and or 7-5 seasons no matter if you love him or hate him. To accept 8-4 means middle of the pack in the west at best. Money and people in the seats count and that will determine if he remains. With the talent in this state we should be on top fighting for the title every year. Hopefully he will get it back on track and if not the powers that be will do what they have to do.

Maybe you should be excited about a coach with a top 5 win% in sec history. (80 years and Miles is top 5) and the #1 ooc win% in sec history. You should be excited that Miles just gave lsu fans our most successful 10 year stretch in school history. I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.
MASPing at its finest.
The "Overall Winning %" is time honored and traditional BS. It's about the only thing they got in defense.
Don't care about overall winning % because that was procured with a liberal dose of Towson and Kent State schools on the schedule.
Where are the Championships?
We care about SEC West and SEC Championships. (National Championships are just "Icing on the Cake.) All those NFL caliber players and few Championships to show for it.
We care about what's happened to this program since 01/09/2012 and what is being done to stop the R&S Decline and descent into "Also Ran" status.

And 2011 turned out great because of superior coaching in the BCS.
That's reality. That tarnished LSU national rep and Miles' so it wasn't even a chance Miles was leaving for Michigan. It will be interesting in Michigan but It will be more of the same here; Bama will continue to dominant and LSU will be so predictable everyone in the stadium and sitting at home will know what they plan to do on offense.

With les at the helm don't count on it.
The point of the OP is that 1) there has been a tremendous amount of expression of all of the bad things about Les, and much of it has been spot on, 2) that Miles is virtually a lock to be our HC anywhere from 3-6 years in the future, 3) any lobbying for him to be gone or piling on of commentary that he is an idiot will be of zero fruitfulness, so 4) buckle up and muster up the most positive outlook as possible - not in the name of delusion, but in the name of accepting our reality and making the most of it for our beloved Tigers.
I do think Les can contend for another title. It is a matter of rotation of the roster to alignment, and all-out development of a QB. We might as well move forward retaining hope that Cam can develop Jennings and modify the offense to a more suitable approach for both him and Harris. We have no choice but believing this of we want to enjoy the ride forward. The alternative is a continuation of a chronic habit of bitching which has been exhausted, has not influenced any changes in decision-making by Miles nor Alleva, and which lessens the enjoyment of the ride as a Tiger fan.

Ok...since for some reason the Miles haters despise the overall win % stat (which is really odd) ...and they also seem to believe that LSU is the only school that plays cupcakes (Even though we play less than most teams)
3 SEC West Titles, 2 SEC Championships, 2 NC game appearances, 1 NC
but I'm sure you'll find a way to shite all over those too. No fanbase in the country shits on their schools accomplishments like LSU fans.
