I don't, the only way that happens is if the offense puts points on the board! Oklahoma is not a WV or a undermanned Tenn right now where you can just squeeze by them, they always stay loaded!

The only one that POSSIBLY could end up with a better record than LSU is Texas. They ALL have more losing to do.

Utah State, Air Force, Cincinnati, and Texas agree.

I think the majority of the fan base would prefer any of these coaches to Miles currently.

The word "any" makes you pretty much wrong Elvis.

well clearly you can throw out career numbers and talk about 5 games. in which case Miles is the greatest of all time

You Negatigers and Sabanistas routinely throw out Miles' career numbers. Something about the "way" he secured many of his 55 wins at LSU... It doesn't make sense to me either.

Using Brown as an example, yes he is above 81% at Texas, two conference and one BCS title, but he's only 8-4 in bowls. Miles' tenure at LSU is very comparable to Brown's at Texas.

Richt is another good example. He had a blank check at UGA. He's 7-2 in bowls (better than Mack), but no BCS and he's under 75% right now. He's feeling heat now, but he's 1-4. After last year, that's the last thing he could afford.

Kelly's too new and Paterno's too old to be fair comparisons. Kelly's three seasons in Cincinnati were extremely impressive. We'll know after 3 or 4 in South Bend if he's ready for prime time.

Paterno is, deservedley so, a legend. He's coached (and won) more games than many Rantards have watched.

to me this thread is a waste of time comparing Miles to these coaches, all have flaws, but I know the others would know how to manage a clock at the end of a game, you can bet that!

Mack Brown disagrees with you.

Yep, Mack Brown did well managing the clock at the back end of the arse raping freaking UCLA handed them 2 weeks ago. But don't let those facts get in the way of a good Miles bashing.

Miles is greater (as a coach?) than brown, richt, kelly, and paterno? Is that really the question being presented?

Hey, I can appreciate that most fans have an over-inflated opinion of their coach, but let's not let it invade our common sense.

I'm not an LSU supporter, nor am I a supporter of texas, georgia, oregon, or penn state; but I've never witness someone take such a small smattering of happenings and extrapolate such a bizaar conclusion that is couched in your bias for Les Miles.

If I were to take a hypothetical coaches poll ranking those five coaches, miles would end up last. He may have pretty record, but respect from his peers, I'm not so sure. And if we're talking about how great a coach is, that should be the true litmus test.

you guys forget one "big" thing and a thread really should be started on this, I saw this comim in 2007 when he had Flynn throw that miracle catch Byrd made in the endzone to beat Auburn, that should have told y'all something then, Byrd doesn't make the catch they lose that game as well. The guy is an incompetent moron, so go on and keep making yourself feel better by comparing other coaches to him to to say it ain't so!

You think Miles is better than Mack Brown?

I'd also take Kelly over Miles in a heartbeat. You think Les Miles could have gone 34-6 in 3 years with Cincy's talent?
