He had great personality. Rest easy. You were a great and majestic ambassador.

And so begins the Les Miles curse...

All kidding aside to lighten the mood, sad I wasn't able to see the big fella before he passed away.

RIP, Big Mike.

said my goodbyes in a different thread, but I do want to reiterate my condolences to all the LSU staff responsible for Mike VI (Roscoe) - also, thanks to staff and fans from other schools who sent flowers and prayers this week. I think a lot of people knew, even expected, that Mike VI would not be allowed to suffer. We love him, we miss him. My thoughts are with our Staff right now.

Somebody help me understand all the down votes on the OP

I'd forgotten that his debut took place on the single best non-kids-being-born day of my life, 2007 UF-LSU.

To this day, that night is the best memory of my life (no kids or marriage yet). Greatest game ever played, and I remember how excited the crowd was to see him make his first appearance. It definitely set the mood for one of the most raucous atmospheres I've been to in the stadium.

Good work, mike. You did your part, buddy.

Yeah. How easy it is to take precious lives for granted... until they are gone. It hurts my heart to know this beautiful animal is no more. Forever loved, Mike VI. Forever LSU. :(

RIP Mike. I am glad he did not have to suffer. We are very fortunate to have such a great live mascot. The new habitat is fantastic. I still remember the small cage Mike had back when I was a student in 89-93.
