True but if you combine his offense with 4* and 5* talent at all positions it wouldnt be stopped.
along with our defense it would be money....

You guys who entertain Tubby as an OC. Wasn't Tubby the guy who hired that franklin dude who got him fired? If tubby what that offensive minded he would have seen that crap and not made the hire.
No one has ever called for Tommy Tubberville to be an OC. I hate when people half-read threads and then post nonsense like this. People are calling for Mike Leach to be the offensive coordinator. Tubberville is a defensive coach.

I don't care what they want Tubby for. He's still not fit to wear purple and gold. That beware the thumb crap was classless too, but since it was for the gumps I didn't mind

My list begins with Pelini.
Why would he leave Nebraska?
All-Time Victories
Nebraska ranks fourth in NCAA history with 808 victories and is easily the nation’s winningest program with 375 wins since 1970.
Bowl Bonanza
Nebraska has appeared in 44 bowl games, including an NCAA record 35 straight from 1969 to 2003.
Back-to-Back
Nebraska is one of only two teams in history to win back-to-back national titles with perfect records in 1994 and 1995. NU is also one of just two teams to win at least a share of the national title three times in a four-year span (1994, 1995, 1997).
Decade of Dominance
The Huskers were dominant in the 1990s, as NU captured three national titles from 1994 to 1997. Nebraska lost just three home games in the 1990s
Poll Leader
The Huskers have been ranked in the final Associated Press Poll in 35 of the last 39 seasons.

Clearly some of you are not using yer noggins....Leach as an OC? C'mon people....if Crowton were to go you're all forgetting that we have Gonzo, and depending on how this season goes and what kind of props he gets....it's plausible that he could/would be the next OC.
And I'm all for that.
Miles as HC; Gonzo as OC = Championships baby!
We'd have...
The Hat
The Chief
The Monsoon (have you seen this guy sweat at practice???)

His teams got destroyed by Ole Miss and Bama and neither were world beaters at the time.
Bama was 10-2 and finished #8 that year, so they weren't exactly chopped liver. We had a great team (11-2, #5 finish, whipped Miami in a bowl) and only managed to beat Alabama in overtime. I think Alabama beat Texas Tech by three points, something like 13-10 or so, on a last-play field goal.
I remember Ole Miss beating them, but don't remember which year. Wasn't it one of the last two years? Ole Miss wasn't great either year, but they went 9-4 and I think they did finish ranked. If I remember right, Ole Miss beat them by about 10.

Would be a great replacement for Crowton (if Leach is willing)

Do they worse defense or does the SEC play worse offense? The Big 12 plays good football regardless. If you think otherwise then I don't know what to tell you.
A few years ago, maybe 2005 or 2006, when the debate was going on between SEC fans and fans of other conferences whether the low scoring games in the SEC were due to great defense or bad offense, I did some research on it. I went through all of the games between SEC teams and other BCS league teams that year (there weren't very many), comparing points scored and points allowed by those teams vs. their SEC opponents to their points scored and points allowed vs. their own conference opponents. I also compared the points scored and allowed by the SEC teams in those games to the points scored and allowed by SEC teams against other SEC teams. If I remember right, the results were...
1) other BCS league teams scored fewer points against SEC teams than they did against teams in their own conferences, but they also allowed fewer points against SEC teams than they did against teams in their own conferences, and
2) SEC teams scored more points against teams from other BCS conferences than they did against other SEC teams, but also allowed more points against other BCS league teams than they did against other SEC teams.
Both results tended to suggest that it was not just due to great defense or poor offense, but some of both. Based on this very small sample, the results indicated that SEC defenses were better than other conferences' defenses, but other conferences offenses were also better than SEC offenses.

Mike Leach would not make it in the SEC. His teams got destroyed by Ole Miss and Bama and neither were world beaters at the time. Well Bama didn't destroy them but they were picked to beat them.
You do realize he was a highly sucessful OC other places, with a completely different offense, right? The man is an offensive mastermind. His offense at TT was perfect for making them relevant. His offense at LSU would be at least a little different.

I think that the offensive philosophy of most of the SEC is geared to a different style of play. Despite SS's influence, the SEC still likes to hammer the ground game first. Control the ball, control the tempo rather than runing up big numbers. While some teams like the "let'er fly" style of play, the SEC generally is still more conservative and likes those big strong backs pounding the shite out of opponents, chewing up the yardage and the clock.

as evidence of all the arse whippings the SEC has been giving the Big 12 in games in regular season and bowl games.
Yea, I remember that blow out! LSU won......and won by 7 and had their lucky charms in the hands intil the final gun......but they won!
SEC is the best conference top to bottom......but don't go crazy on us man.......it takes credibilty from you....
Leach is a genius and has a Sabanistic personality which means he runs his show only!

Tell me all about how they fare vs SEC.
44-28 sound right? 44=SEC btw.
I think he's too pass happy anyway. Hire him as pass game coord and put BG in the booth. We need somebody up there who knows constraints, not just pull plays out of a fricking hat.
