THAT 2011 defense was so good we got to the championship game with JJ and JL as QBs
well, that and explosive ST plays and takeaways thanks to HB7.
We get anything close to that on ST and defense.... watch out

Tyler Shelvin is a freak this year will determine if i think he's draft eligible especially since he loss all that weight i think he will be dominate and show why he's a 5 star talent

Last season was a roller coaster.
- Burrow comes and adds excitement.
- lower expectations than normal.
- Miami had be excited.
- Southeastern brought me back down
- Auburn game made me jump on board.
- Florida pissed me off.
- Georgia brought me back.
- Alabama killed my spirits.
And A&M wiped me out!

This is an exciting projection and makes us all proud of the state of the defense in the LSU football program. we should be hard to score on.
On the other hand, there is a huge talent disparity with our offense. How many on the offense will play in the NFL? A few, for sure (esp. at skill positions), but we just don't recruit as well for our offense.
This does not appear to be markedly better under Orgeron than it was under Miles.

I don't think I have ever been this excited for LSU football to start...
It’s easy to get caught up in the moment, but I still think 2011 was my most excited.
I’m still very excited.

Most exciting Tigers 1959!!!

Not in the last four years. We have had a player or two drafted high. Our talent level had gone down. Talent level is back up in a big way.

Huh?
Probably 5 receivers, 2 runningbacks, our quarterback, half the O-line will get drafted. That's like 80% of the offensive starters...

The two things holding the LSU offense back are the offensive line. And last year the lack of an explosive running back. Running back talent has been solved. We shall see if the line can go from poor/bad to average/ good. If the line is good.. can get a stand off with Bama and Florida. This might be a really really good year

Plus, it's my understanding that what's been added to the offensive philosophy are schemes that do not require the OL to "stand off" with them for as many seconds, which might help mitigate some issues.

If this turns out to be true, then we really are coming
We know the defense will be good enough to win. Need to see the offense. We’ve been burned too many times to trust anything but what we see in an actual game.

I’ve been saying this exact thing since the Spring! Best defense since 2011

Honestly, I think we might see something similar to TM7 with Stingley , he has the potential to check the special teams box and the entire D has the potential to check the takeaway box.
Switch to offense, compared to 2011 we have:
QB - Burrow instead of JJ/JL
RB - We have a STABLE of horses comparable to Ware, Ford Blue, Hilliard, Magee. Edwards-Helaire, Curry, Fournette, Emery Jr. One of them, if not more, will really shine.
WR - Our Core is the best its been since 2013.
2011 had Sheppard, OBJ, Landry, Boone, Randle.
2019 has Jefferson, McMath, Dillon, Anderson, Lee, Chase, etc. Some of these guys will have breakout years.
TE- 2011 - Peterson and Clement that was it. 23 rec. for 250yds combined.
2019 will showcase Moss and Sullivan
IF the OL can perform at the level that T-Bob, Lonergan, Blackwell, Hurt, and Faulk did..thus will be unreal.
Top that off with Coaching:
2011 - Miles, Studrawa, and Chavis....ewww.
2019 - Ogeron, Brady/E, Aranda...boner.
Anyone who cant see this is shaping up to be a HUGE year for the Tigers isn't paying attention.

That Pete Jenkins told him "at the start of the Texas game, write down every starting defensive player. Every single name you write down will be drafted by the NFL" If that's the case, look out. Detillier also said this is the best LSU defense he's seen since 2011.
It moved...

Jarvis Landry had 4 catches for 43 yards in 2011
Don't get me wrong, Jarvis is one of my favorite WRs of all time, but to say he contributed to the 2011 season at WR is dumb.
Boone had 7 catches for 82 yards.
For 2011, it was mostly Randle & OBJ with Peterson & Shepp sprinkled in.
quote:2019 does NOT have Anderson and how can you not include the two most talented WRs on the roster (Chase & Terrance Marshall)
