I would guess he had offers from other top programs and he consulted his dad. Sounds like a good endorsement of LSU and PM.

Yall need to forget about batting avg. It is a useless stat once you are out of little league. Zero coaches or teams focus on that.
His slugging pct is .588 and his OPS is 1.036 which is elite
