Might Shores return next year?

He'd maintain leverage because he'd be only a junior, could keep improving, and could be a key piece of a good staff.

Would think he would be back.

That’s one theory. However, the data doesn’t support that theory.
Shores will likely need another year of work to get his control back to where it was before the injury.
The MLB minors can wait and develop. SEC college baseball requires one overwhelming reality that is different. Teams HAVE to win while developing. I don’t think LSU has the luxury of another developmental year. Especially with the roster reductions coming.

He’s not ready. He’d be smart to return. Hopefully he can turn the corner coming out the pen

He has good stuff and a great arm, but they need to work on another pitch, possibly an out pitch. Seems like hitters are able to sit fastball on him this year and he’s having trouble locating the other stuff for strikes so they don’t respect it.

He'll get drafted in the top 3 rounds.
Can't really teach 6'8, 100 mph, with arm side run, post TJ.
Someone will take a shot on him.
He needs to develop a change up. His arm action would create an absurd arm side circle change.

These hitters in the SEC see 97 almost every weekend now. He's got to be able to change speeds and throw it for strikes.

Thatcher Hurd went in the 3rd round. Somebody’s drafting Shores

No one on this board knows the answer

Doubtful. Maybe a 5% chance
