You're brilliant. I qualified the whole thing and said that it wasn't authoritative at all. Just a conversation.
But, I still think that it was more informed that probably 75% of the blather that gets posted here, so I thought I'd run with it. And, that isn't saying much.
Do with it what you like. I just thought it was interesting to hear a different point of view. I don't talk to Michigan fans everyday.

What the hell.. he already stated it wasnt a good source.
His point is 1. RRod is probably gone. which leads to 2. Commone sense dicates they come after Miles. Were they not interested once before?

What I mean by "well connected" is that he seemed like someone who knew what was being said by the Michigan community. Just like I would say that you, BilJ, are well connected to what is being said about LSU.
Man, when did the editorial standards for a post on the Tiger Rant reach such heights? I wasn't trying to pass it off as fact. Just sharing a conversation.
It's been said here repeatedly that no other team would want Miles. Suddenly, that seems to be changing a bit. Thought it was interesting.

if I ran into a ranter on the streets I'm sure he'd also tell me miles is fired after this season. So how do you conclude RR is probably gone from speaking to 1 fan?
Posted on 11/2/10 at 9:22 am to BilJ
a good fan usually keeps his finger on the pulse of a program.
That same pulse we have on our program right now that says Crowton is likely gone this year.
Common sense dictates Miles isnt gone at 7-1, with his only loss coming to the #1 team on the road by 7.
Michigans performance is much worse, and we'd be screaming for Miles' head if we were that bad.

who does LSU hire to replace Miles?

As for me, I'm not concluding anything. But, I will watch the Michigan situation more closely than I was. Honestly, I haven't been paying much attention to if Rodriguez was on a short leash or not. Now, I will. After the report last week out of Colorado, I started paying attention to that.
File it in the "For what it's worth" category and we can see if anything comes of it.
The only fact out of this is that I met a Michigan fan today who had a positive view of Miles based on what he had done at LSU and thought he would be a good fit at Michigan. He "said" that others at Michigan felt the same way.
We'll see, I guess, if there is anything to it. If LSU keeps winning, I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan make a move.

That would be awesome. I don't see it happening though.

He really is a good man, good recruiter, and has a great winning percentage
Why doesn't everyone understand LSU will have all of those things when Miles is gone. WIth the money we spend, we will get another great man, great recruiter (LSU also recruits itself) and we will win and all will be well.
But, when we are in a dog fight, we will know our coach and OC will be ready to answer the call!

I would agree I think RR is gone at season's end. His hire was a head scratcher from the start in my opinion. Miles would do well up there more than likely.

I'm not saying that we can't find that. I just get tired of the Miles bashing. He has his flaws and I will be happy to see him go, at this point. But, I don't want my frustration to blind me to the really positive parts about who he is as a coach and a person. You don't have to demonize someone to say that it is time to go a different direction. You can't deny the positives, and if you do, you probably won't like the next guy either.

The Rantards will be happy when LSU gets a third rate coach that cheats, cant recruit and turns LSU into a middle tier SEC team...
If theres some superstar coach just waiting for LSU to call please tell me where he' been hiding?
The hatred of Coach Miles has snowballed into an avalance and most have no clue why they hate him.

Personally, i think its a big loss if LSU loses Miles due to all the intagibles he brings to the program.
However, if he refuses to replace Crowton, i think he will eventually do more damage than good, and should probably be fired.
If Miles gets a good OC whos manages the offense in-game, Miles could be one of the best college coaches out there.
He fixed the D. Ill give him the chance to fix the O too.

For 4 million per year? Everyone will listen! Every single OC in the nation will want to talk to us, every DC would too FWIW.
And damn near every head coach that isn't already in the SEC would listen, and even some that are in it already.
Stop selling us short because of the redicule over Miles and CO. We are a PREMIER job!
