I'm sure it has been discussed. What are the chances of playing in the bowl game?

TIA

Miles is going to keep this quiet leading up to the bowl game making the opponent prepare for both QBs. Don't expect anything official anytime soon on Mett.

he's played his last down for the Tigers unless Les puts him in to take a knee to end the bowl. Les isn't going to risk this kids future for a worthless bowl game.

Do you guys think he should let Mett sit this one out and not risk him hurting it even more going into the NFL Draft? Don't get me wrong, as much as I want him to play in the bowl game, I wouldn't want him getting hurt worse and possibly ruining his career.

I hope ZM would have considerable input on this decision.

I would think it would be valuable to get Jennings solid reps

I hope you're wrong. It's imperative that LSU wins the bowl game this year and I really think we'll need Mett to do it.

That's not the word coming out of LSU. I really hope that Mett can play in the bowl game. Jennings looked good in limited action, but we have no idea how he'll do starting a full game.

Didnt hear if sprain or tear, but did hear he will need surgery.

If it a "sprain" and needs surgery, it is a tear. Sprain, in actuality, can mean it is a tear but not a complete tear. However, those can also many times not require surgery either and will heal on their own with rest. Either way, if Mett isn't 100% for the bowl game, there is no sense in risking further injury this close to the draft and in a game that is, for all practical purposes, fairly insignificant. If I were a betting man, Mett has played his last game as a Tiger unless he wants to play badly enough and can convince the coaches to allow it.

I'll wait for an official word (so probably the day of the game), but whatever the case, hope this doesn't affect his draft status. He's improved too much and worked to hard to develop into the QB he was this year to have this derail all the progress he's made. You know it really sucks that two of the best and few higher rated pro-style QBs (Murray and Mett) have fallen to knee injuries in back to back weeks to end the season so close to the draft and in seasons that didn't even meet the season goals for their teams.

If he's healthy, he plays.
Miles is paid to win games at LSU, he's not paid by the NFL.

Pretty sure Mett has a torn ligament either ACL or LCL.

I wouldn't expect him to play in the bowl game after watching his knee bend like that. I doubt it will ever be confirmed because of draft status.

Mett isn't required to play. And Miles isn't going to try to force a player that may be worried about suffering or furthering an injury that could affect his career. If Mett is healthy, is cleared by doctors, and says he's ready/wants to play, then yeah Miles should play him because yeah he does have the job of winning games and putting the team in best position to do so. But I disagree with your second sentence, in part. No, he's not payed by the NFL, but it wouldn't look good for recruits or him as a coach if he risks his own player's future to win a bowl game that is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. If Mett isn't absolutely 100%, Miles shouldn't play him. A 10 win season would be nice, but there are other things more important. It's not like we're playing for a championship. jmo
