If this statement doesn't make you feel good about the upcoming season, then I don't know what will.

I love his confidence. So excited, we have a legit QB under center this season. Opposing defenses be wary..

Nice to have a confident LEADER on offense that can back it up.

Really looking forward to next season. It's going to be a long summer. I just wish we had another trip to Dallas or ATL for the first game.

I'm hopeful, but let's not forget he hasn't started a single game at LSU yet. In other words... he needs to PROVE that he "can back it up". I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

I think they should have played him more last year. Maybe in the 2nd AL game to give him experience for this year.JJ wasn't doing anything.

I agree, maybe we'd be playing for back to back championships with a QB that knows what it feels like to play in significant game time. But that has been hashed and rehashed so I will just sit back and look forward to the new season.

Exactly, it feels like a lifetime since we've had that. This will be the first time in 4 years that I won't watch another team play and say why can't we have a QB like that! and it wasn't like I was just watching Luck or RG3, it would have been nice to have someone like Tannehill! But we have a good one and I am looking forward to it.

JJ looked bad the last two years in the spring game.

Bingo. And the JJ apologists would tell you that the Spring Game doesn't matter. I never saw Luck, RG3 or any all conference QB struggle with theirs. But I'm sure there is an excuse.

He did well last spring game. If Miles wasn't so stubborn he would have played him 1st or 2nd string last year, especially when JJ got into trouble.

Totally agree that he is stubborn! I try not to judge coaches too harshly because they have access to the players and countless hours of preparation and film study that we as fans just aren't able to see. Also their job security is based on performance so you know they will try and do their best. But with that being said, no one can convince me that what I saw these past few years is just straight stubborn as a mule hard headiness! Besides we blew out several teams, why not give him a shot on a few series? Maybe he didn't want anyone to have film on him yet, but they are going to get film on him against the juggernaut North Texas!
