If he only improves in one area over the summer
what would you like to see.

so would like him to step up in the pocket?
scramble out of the pocket?
or get rid of the ball?

question's not legit.

Mett: needs to improve pocket awareness and accuracy on down field passing.

O-Line: needs to improve PASS protection. Run protection is good but requires a slightly different skill set.

Receivers: need to improve route running, getting open and catching balls thrown directly at them

Coaching: needs to the trust the passing game and open the game up.

being able to do all three of those depending on the situation and play is what pocket presence is.

footwork! That will help everything else improve for Mett to be more successful.

not really. he's just not that mobile when it comes to escaping pressure. he's stood in and delivered some passes and moved a little and reset for throws at times. unfortunately he's also probably held the ball too long a few times, but I think he's gotten better with that.

I will say some of the sacks/ hits he's taken were the result of some AWFUL pass protection. we've been in max protect and had RBs miss blocks/ block the wrong guy.

I can tell you right now... He WILL NOT scramble and nor do the coaches want him to scramble. He runs like a wounded clydesdale.

downfield passing. Our offense would be so much more productive if he can connect on the deep ball

Yeah, definitely can't scramble but he can learn how to move within the pocket to buy a little more time. I assume this can only come with experience.

This. He does not need to scramble he is never going to
be fast enough. Just ask Drew Brees he has great footwork
along with pocket presents.

So youre comparing a Naked Bootleg to a pass play breakdown and having to scramble?
