A diluted sample is like drug testing 101. Everyone knows if your piss is too clear, it will be flagged. Mett is a moron.
Mett drinking a ton of water to fight dehydration is more believable than him smoking weed right before the combine. You don't know if he's taking medicine or supplements to recover from surgery that can cause dehydration.

It is documented that he asked his doc months ago if this diluted sample would happen. Unless some of you tards actually think he planned all that out just to smoke a little weed. Give me a fricking break.

Again, the drug test is puzzling. But, Mett is dropping due to the back issues report.

Didn't Mett break his back last August?

Some dude on twitter reported that. But, couldn't get his source to come out and openly say it.

So Mettenberger is about to take the biggest drug test of his career, and he can't stay away from the green? Now people in this thread are telling me that it's not addictive?

He's a college athlete. It isn't that mind blowing.

Didn't seem to affect a few others that had the same "failures"
Having said this....I wouldnt draft him earlier than 5th anyway. Mobility will be his issue in NFL

It baffles me how some on this board still think he's smoking weed before the draft. Analyze the headlines, don't just regurgitate them. Jesus.
Yup. However, we have a lot of dumb people on TD...

I'm not sure which side of this debate you think I fell on. I don't know the reasons why Mett's drug test wasn't clean, but the drinking water for rehab doesn't seem legit. Smells like an agent's spin.

As for who "leaked" the story, it doesn't matter. All NFL teams would have known, even if the public didn't.

quote:
When you exercise hard, a substance known as lactic acid increases in your system as a by-product of speeding up the metabolism. It is this buildup that accounts for the sore muscles and joints for a day or two after you’ve pushed yourself beyond your normal activity level.
The same holds true for the side-effects of the deep muscle manipulation that physical therapists administer to their patients. It may be a little sore at the time of treatment, but you can minimize any soreness afterward by drinking a lot of water to flush the lactic acid out of your system.
The recommendation for optimal hydration is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water. If you weigh 150 pounds, you would need to drink 75 oz of water a day. And we are speaking about pure water – other liquids don’t count. Think of any liquid other than water as food. Only pure unadulterated water will do to maximize proper fluid flow in your body.

I mean.. He obviously didn't. I was just making fun of the guy that reported it.

the fact anyone believes the innocent oops to much water story is pathetically laughable

You don't think any of the other athletes training for the combine drank a shite ton of water too?
Posted on 5/10/14 at 12:03 pm to ForeLSU
Wow, that was some great information. Why didn't his agent know that beforehand? I guess this is all a simple misunderstanding. Can we get a court order to restart the draft?
Posted on 5/10/14 at 12:05 pm to Choupique19
I guess Aaron Murray isn't rehabbing his knee. Is Mett the only player in the draft currently rehabbing? Is he the first player ever to attend the combine while rehabbing?

I have no idea how much any of them drank, nor do I care. I was simply pointing out that drinking a bunch of water while you're undergoing therapy isn't out of the ordinary...
