Mett is better off going somewhere else. Mariotta is going to get killed behind that O-line.

Playing Mariota buys Whisenhunt time. "Rookie" growing pains will probably give him another year despite his track record of not being a good head coach.

You guys keep talking about Mett not wanting to compete for the job, what you don't understand is that it's not a competition. Mett won't see the field again unless MM is injured. As it has been said you don't draft a QB #2 overall to have him compete....the job is MMs, there is no competition. If Mett is going to be a backup it would serve him better to be a backup to a veteran qb.

Competition, what competition? The head coach already said that MM would start 1st game. He isn't stupid he knew his GM wasn't going to get him any lineman and that he'll need a mobile QB. He'll be like RGIII and it want take him long to get hurt. Tennessee will still suck. I'd ask to be traded also.

They shored up their defense a ton and the OL was completely decimated by injury last year. I think with Mett this year if they add a big target WR they could win 7-8 games.

Not sure how Mett would feel about it, but what does the board think about the Saints picking him up to be the backup to Brees? Mett has started before, and could use the time on the bench to learn from a league MVP.

I think given a fair shot, Mett beats out Mariota.
Mett has another year in that system with those teammates and Mariota has to learn an entirely new offensive style and system.
Titans fans like Mett and apparently he's been putting in a lot of extra work this offseason with his teammates.
Unfortunately, he isn't going to get a fair shot.
