only because Stephen Jones had to put the old man in a sleeper hold to keep him from trying to sign him

Sometimes, having starting experience can be a detriment to a guy's career. In many cases, it's better to be a career backup than be a guy teams know can't carry an NFL team.

Mett being winless in his starts certainly isn't helping his case.

I never thought he was going to the Hall of Fame but I admit to thinking that he had some kind of future in the league.

Someone will pick him up though. He's still better than half the backups floating around the league.

Hmm

Claimed off waivers from the Chargers last August, "Mett Show" spent a year holding the Steelers' second clipboard behind Ben Roethlisberger and Landry Jones. His fate was sealed following Pittsburgh's selection of Josh Dobbs. Arguably the least-mobile quarterback of the decade, Mettenberger doesn't have an NFL future. May 1 - 2:05 PM

You must know something they don't....I tend to agree with the professionals.

Based on what? I can't even remember him playing in a game.

He was pretty decent for the Titans and saw a lot of action. Before they drafted Mariota a lot of people thought he'd be the starter.

Has a bad attitude though and went out partying 5 nights a week in Nashville. Was always at our local watering hole with 2 bimbos on his arms. His mom was with him once taking shots as well after midnight

ETA:

I never said anything but Geaux Tigers to him. He wasn't very approachable, for good reason I guess.

My idea of decent isn't winless with more INTs than TDs

0 upside

No shame in being in the NFL for 4 years though.

Those teams were so, so, so bad.

He made some great throws but would just get destroyed every play.

His stats are terrible though.

WAITING for the proverbial "Why don't the Saints sign him" comments.

Did not have pocket awareness with lsu. Does not move well or protect the ball.

Anyone look at bradys body in the rookie nfl photo. Most of td think they could beat him up.
But he managed to avoid big damage so far while being
s l o w. Luck? Some, of course.

I loved Mett but he was TERRIBLE in the pocket at LSU. No escapability, I've seen him trip on his own feet when pressured. Great Tiger, probably not NFL

really overrated here, it's just that we hadn't seen any production from the qb position in a long time(still haven't,) concrete boots, head didn't swivel quick enough

Why is it that a young, in shape dude is so immobile? It doesn't even make physical sense that he can't run/move around a LITTLE bit...

Looks like he's earned $1.7M so far. Hopefully some team still believes he can add value.

How much after the agents and IRS get their cut?
