please expound

Murphy was anointed the leader of the offense before the season began. Ridley beat him out. Ridley is among the best RBs in the SEC.

After last week it's apparent that both of our QBs have huge shortcomings..

This was apparent to most of us in 2008. There was a glimmer of hope later that year after JJ's performance in the Chicken Bowl, but we all know how this has played out.

Les Miles too

This board was seemingly under the impression that Lee underwent some miraculous transformation though. Saturday proved that he hadn't.

Then why hasn't he done anything about this?

Based on the way things have played out this season, I would say--maybe! First, for Mett to start, LSU must get a new OC, preferably one that runs a pro-style offense & Miles would agree to go to that. Also, Miles would have to assure Mett he would be given a fair shot at the starting job--Mett should insist on that, since he has other choices. The fact that Miles started Ridley over Murphy gives us hope.

Because if not, Lee can't transfer.

Why?

Because you only have five years to play four. Lee is a RS Junior, meaning he is in his fourth year. If he were to transfer to another DI school, he would have to sit for a year and his five years would be up.

However, if he is scheduled to graduate, he can use the same rule Masolli used and find a DI school that offers a graduate program not offered by LSU and play right away.

Thus, if he isn't going to graduate in the Spring, he can't transfer . . . unless he goes DII.

He can go to an FCS (formerly D1AA) school and play immediately.

Yes, and nothing's been done. He's recruited quarterbacks, but where are they now? Why didn't he give Coach Crowton the boot after last season?

he probably believed that Crowton had earned another year.. he had one more on his contract anyway.

We did have the best offense in LSU history in 2007, and it wasn't bad in 2008 either.

We see now that 2007 was an anomaly, but unfortunately Miles doesn't have "the sight" like LSU fans think they do.

Depends on the OC

actually probably this

but if he gets a really good OC, it'll be Fact

If LSU gets a new OC, I would hold out hope for JL as well. Hell even JJ could be better under a new coordinator.

Murphy has never recieved significant playing time. He is being used now as he always has been. We all knew Ridley would be Miles choice as a feature back.

He will probably be a QB at Al. Offered a scholarship today by Saban. Can't blame if he wants a chance to go pro.

Fiction...Miles has proven that he is loyal to his staff and players and has promised to ride with them to the bitter end. Whether that end means his demise or not he'll go down witht he ship.
