No huddle and hurry up offenses are different.

They do this in practice for a couple reasons.. More plays in practice, teaches them to rely on technique, slows down the game when you throttle it back and of course the obvious..we will run more hurry up. Damn I'm excite to see what Cam brings

The best thing about that article is when Mett talks about new terminology. When Krag came in we heard the terminology wouldn't change. This is Cam's offense.

Our version of the "hurry up" last year was after a 1st down play, hurry up to the line and hand off for an inside run.

nah we did a little more than that when we went to temp. even under Crowton. sometimes it was check with me (and - gasp - the short side option), sometimes it was just getting up to the LOS and the QB making the check on his own.

I can already see opposing teams with their hands on their hips, fear in their eyes and a look of uncertainty on their faces while they gasp for air.

I can already see Fiero Ferragamo, or whatever the 370 pounders name is, sucking air in practice. Seriously though, hope Stud/Moffit get the OL conditioned.

Since 2009 LSU has been the most successful when they have quickened the tempo. They also happen to have the personnel to do it. So why not ? I can see Hill busting 60 yard tds against worn-out defenses in the 4th quarter. They need to run/condition all Summer like they did in the Summer of 2011, except on offense. Prepare to overwhelm teams with personnel and tempo. And really guys, ANY OFFENSIVE IDENTITY would be an improvement, right ?

when we practiced for Oregon 2 years ago we implemented a little bit of up tempo into our offense and actually used it against Oregon and we drove down the field and scored

Mett will be perfect in the spread offense with the exception of his mobility. He can make all the passes though. The slant, the bubble screen, the hook. Next year is going to be fricking awesome

Some of You guys aren't going to like it, but the Studrawa "pitch dive" (brain freeze-proper terminology is not coming to me) is actually perfect in the hurry-up.

Any word on the short side option?

are you THAT desperate for attention? It wasn't funny the first time you posted it and it wasn't funny the second time either

the short side option is run for a reason... It comes down to a numbers game and having every defender blocked on one side of the field

I can draw it up for you if you're too ignorant to understand a brief description

The only thing that worries menabout this up tempo approach is if the offense doesn't make first downs-which was a major problem last year-you force your defense back on the field without much rest-which was a major problem last year.

Seems like if your offense doesn't make first downs, it really doesn't matter what tempo you are running... you are gonna be in trouble.
