Going to be one of the best OL coaches ever in the not too distant future.

Between him and Melissa (wife) no one is better suited to handle this life "sudden change".

One way or the other, they'll turn lemons into lemonade.

He used to cheat off me in Geology 101. Glad I could help him find eligibility.

Saying that you're thankful for the opportunities afforded by getting injured is a little too much. Making the best of a bad situation and focusing on the positives is one thing. But saying you're "grateful" for being in that position is just stupid.

He’s a large man.

Played with him at squire creek couple years ago.

Maybe Whitworth is a believer in there being a bigger plan? Bad shite in life happens dude and he is looking at it towards an opportunity to teach to the younger guys around him and still be an asset when not on the field. All love to Whitworth

If it's me I'd just go fishing. But that mindset would never have got me to the League in the first place.

LSU’s future OL coach right there.

T Bob talked about him this morning, said his size made him able to block completely different than others could, that he taught in a way that worked for him but was not like what any other OL coach had taught.

I wonder if God given ability makes some of these guys not the best teachers? Not a slam, a question.

great message from him. But I have to say, maybe this is a good reason to retire.

15 years is an incredible career, and linemen have a lot of small (and some large) head collisions every practice and game. I'd be more concerned about long-term brain health and might just use this injury as the trigger to call it a day.

But if he decide to come back, all the best to him.

Most MLB managers were journeyman players, not stars.

All you did was handicap his future.

Now he’ll never be able to be a geologist.

How is he supposed to make a living and support his family?
