I've heard stories about someone hitting oe there, but it wasn't Cresse or Belle
I'm thinking Wes Grisham... hit a shot that cleared the tops of the light poles in left.
That and Mouton's CWS shot to center.

Bill Brasky hit one that broke a light in Tiger Stadium

Brandon Larson in the 1997 CWS. Wow!!

How could I forget about Larson...I dont think he ever hit one that BARELY went over, he seems to crush them all
One of my favorite players but he had to be on some performance enhancing drugs.

No way. 500 feet, maybe. Very possible with those old metal bats.

i remember todd linden hitting a bomb.

Wasn't it Cresse that hit that shot to center in Omaha that cleared the fence by about 150 feet?

Yet we have no video evidence. Sort of like big foot. Lots of reports, but no evidence.

I remember that as if it happened yesterday. What a sweet swing he had on that ball.

Don't think it's humanly possible to hit that building in the air. Maybe if it bounced on concrete and rolled, but not on the fly.
Give me a wii, I can do this shite.

i saw the ones by Lyle Mouton and Brad Cresse. The Mouton one was probably the longest homerun i've ever seen. I was also like 8 or something so it's probably seemed longer than it was.

Lyle Mouton hit one that landed somewhere near the jet at Tiger Stadium at a game I went to. Bo Jackson hit one in the same area I am told by my son.

Brad Hawpe hit one over Nicholson.

We stepped it off one day. Approx 550 ft to the nearest point of the marraige dorms. Google maps backs this up.
Possible, but highly unlikely. Great urban legend though.
I stand that the furthest ball was Larson's bomb off a hanging Matt Anderson slider in Omaha.
Furthest at the Box was Craig Pearce (JUCO RF) in '94.

Larson in Omaha, there is a giraffe in the Omaha zoo that still has a knot on his head after that blast.

Furthermore, 450' will clear Nicholson....very possible.
& to hit the Ath Admin building is about 20 ft further than the marraige dorms.
I used Google maps for those.

I was sitting in the left field bleachers for that one.
I know there is video evidence of the ball that Lyle Mouton hit over the double fence in centerfield at Omaha when the fence was 420 ft. away. He hit it off of a first round draft pick from Florida.

I saw Mike Miley hit Nicholson Drive using a wooden bat, also a guy named Bill"The Babe"Bright in the late '60's.

Longest one I've seen in person is still Todd Linden's blast in the sub regionals (forget the opponent) his Sr. year. It may have been Virginia Commonwealth.
Anyway, it was the second game of the day (they had to beat us twice, and they won the first one) and it was Linden's second HR of the game. It was still on the rise when it flew over the intimidator. A buddy of mine was tailgating by the Athletic Dept and saw it land about 35-45 feet past Nicholson.
